Remove push and bring back 2CP

Before you say, “Yeah, I can’t wait to lose the 1st point in 30 seconds and have to defend the 2nd point for 5 minutes again.” I’m more than well aware that the 2CP maps in Overwatch 1 were awful, but I’d much rather play the 2CP maps than the Push maps, which are literally just glorified deathmatch maps with a walking simulator. Lol

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but the general playerbase never got to play the 2CP maps in the Overwatch 2 5v5 format. And, you know, who knows? Maybe the 2CP maps wouldn’t be nearly as awful as they were in Overwatch1 with all the changes to Overwatch2.

push is full blown death match until the last 10 seconds. I love it!

Nothing is worse than 2CP. Push is just a bad Payload, but better than 2CP.

2CP needs to stay gone until the maps and rules have been revised.

In OW1, every match that left a bad taste in my mouth was almost without exception 2CP.

uhhh you realize that kiriko would be absolutely busted on 2CP considering she can just keep TPING to the second point on defense as soon as she respawns as long as at least one ally is on point…kinda a done deal with that design now.

[Incidentally i believe Push was also developed under OG team under Jeff Kaplan, before all the PvE or PvP and monetization and locking chars in a tier 55 bp bs]

Don’t get me wrong It’s great fun, but I think it’s just too lacking when it comes to the “team-based” part of Overwatch. It’s way too much like a deathmatch; there’s very little coordination that’s required amongst a team to secure a victory, and when I say remove, I just mean from the Comp map pools, not the whole game or anything. Just to clarify that Lol

I’d imagine every character would be broken, and if every character is broken, in theory, then no character is broken.

Control maps. At least 2CP doesn’t force you to play a bunch of rounds.

But, unless we’re talking FFA, Team Deathmatch is literally Team Deathmatch. If you think Team Deathmatch played correctly doesn’t involve teamwork then I’m just baffled. Also Push is freaking awesome. It’s just bad players that lose 4v1’s in the backline for a straight minute leading me to try to solo push the robot as Junker Queen (totally not based on a real example) and excusing their own actions by saying “backline flanker that hasn’t killed anyone for a solid minute is greater priority than the goddam objective of the mode”.

I’m sorry, but Push is best played with teamwork, just like every other mode. It just has a lower floor to be met for teamwork. And one of 2CP’s biggest complaints is that the bar of teamwork requirement is disproportionately way too high.

I’d rather let people think Push is too Team Deathmatchy and steamroll those people with my decently coordinated team of 4 other randos than instant lose in 2CP because Teamwork is not in my teammate’s vocabulary.

Bad teammates is less punishing in Push in general, barring extreme examples like mentioned above. And I will always prefer modes that benefit hugely from good teamwork but don’t require it that much so long as the enemy isn’t that good to modes that literally fall apart if there’s a single person not in comms.

They took the easy way out. Eliminating the game type rsther than improving the maps. The maps themselves where the problem. Not the game type.

payload maps atleast have good map design that does not shove you through giant sightlines and flanking traps where sojourns and widows can demolish you for free.

Yeah, of course it requires coordination without a doubt, but when your entire team can split across the map and still be successful in winning fights, that’s where I feel as if the mode has strayed a bit too far from a game which ideally is supposed to be a team-based game, which normally is your team fighting the enemy team as a team. Wow, that’s a lot of “team” lmao.

Don’t know why people keep asking for things they know are never going to happen.

Why? Push is awesome. That being said, i do miss 2CP (except for HLC, [EFF!] that map).

I absolutely loathe 2cp but I’m very curious how it would play in a 5v5 scenario. I want them to make some adjustments to certain maps and bring it back for a trial, just for the fun.

However, I do actually really like push. I think it’s fun and way more fast paced and the uncertainty of who’s gonna win is funny.

Def miss 2CP in general and while HLC got old with how often you had to play it, I did love a good defense playing Orisa.

Nothing like setting up a nice bunker on the high ground to the left of Point A :relieved:
