The Devs said they’re removing borders from the game in OW2, so we just have to wait until then

Profile borders is the reason I play. To get better borders. What’s the incentive in QP otherwise?

i think they should make it where u unlock a border color first then have the option to chose what border u want like if i reached level 1000 which is gold border i have the option to go back to silver or bronze or just stick with gold

They are being replaced with OW2, don’t worry
It’s a bit odd that people connect your border to your rank. Like, I’m pretty sure if I spent another 50,000 hours playing this game I would still be at the same rank. Time doesn’t really equal skill beyond a certain point.

we might not ever be done with it tho, since it mutates fast, cant be contained, and the mRNA vaccines being adapted to new strains still takes 3 months min to develop each time after the strain’s identified, so idk. Could last another few years, and there could be 3-month long lockdowns and border pressure in response to novel, more dangerous strains for a long time yet

I have to mute text chat as well in 80% of the games
I have a really hard time believing you have it this bad. I’m far ahead of you and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had someone comment about my border and it wasn’t even in voice chat.

Most people who make “border shaming” comments have like 10+ accounts themselves.
They’d easily have high level borders if they added up all their accounts into one.

I seriously do not understand the logic behind some people. Why do people always equate time=Skill. When its not always the case. I have played age of empires 2 since I was 4 years old and I still absolutely suck at the game from a pvp standpoint. Whereas in starcraft2 I can join after a long hiatus and kick butts. I honestly think those people see you then view themselves with gold boarders, still stuck at the rank, so it frightens them. Honestly don’t trouble yourself with those fools.

Same here, TIRED OF IT HONESTLY!
I hear the same thing over and over every night. Toxic group, after another.
- Attack the player with a Gold, silver or PLATINUM border. Because they must be “good”.
- Report the G, S, P border player because they are supposedly throwing.
It would be an early (or late) christmas Present from Jeff Kaplan and the team if they decided to put an END to Portraits. The sooner. The better.
