Private profiles in overwatch just encourages solo minded game play in a group setting. It detracts from a team effort when trying to adjust by taking away players abilities to figure out the groups strengths and weakness.
There is no valid reason to have a pvt profile in the game. Absolutely none.
One might say… well other players are toxic… well… doesn’t matter if you have a pvt profile or not, toxic players are always going to be toxic.
Blizzard has provided plenty of tools for individuals to deal with toxic players.
There is no advantage if all profiles are available to both teams. You could argue its a disadvantage for dirty one tricks only. But they are also less likely to have a teammate steal their hero with open profiles.
Whilst I don’t disagree. I want people to play what they enjoy, rather then spend all day trying to just run counters.
Maybe it’s an OW utopia we can’t have. But if all you’re concerned about is how to stop the other team playing, rather than how you’re going to make plays. Something isn’t right.
It’s like football/soccer teams setting up not to lose. It’s boring.
I believe that certain information should be private, like account name, Blizzard needs to allow for a gamer profile within the game that does not include Blizzard account information. Players can select a ‘name’ or gamer tag for OW.
Public information should be simply win/loss, rank/tier, age of account, time played, basic player statistics, etc.
No hero history. I agree with the idea that the other team should not know what a players potential hero pick will be before the match starts.
