No one wants this ability its niche and infuriating i avoid tanking just because of lw now. He is essentially another enemy that can take you out of a fight

Here’s my shower thought for a Life Grip replacement: an ability with no cooldown that’s cast on an ally like Harmony (let’s call it “Symbiosis”), that redirects an amount of incoming damage from the ally to LW’s structures (both platform and tree). Symbiosis itself is a more general use ability than Grip, and even platform becomes less situational. It also gives LW another gameplay element to keep tabs on.
It even fits into “life protects life” and all that jazz.

I’m not sure you read my post that they linked. The slight rework allows you to cancel it before it happens while also providing you with the 50 healing + 100 overhealth.
It would quite literally give you the option to reposition safely or stay in the midst of the fight and get a health buff for doing so.

here is the rework:
Point at LW and Press F to grip yourself to Lifeweaver and use his cd. Now your teammates can troll LW.
I could balance this game myself. Hire me Blizzard.

I 100% agree.
Just got out of a game that a LW ruined.
We were down to the last 10 secs. I was on Moira and teammates were midway running running back. I attempt to go to the cart to maybe buy some time until the tank/team get back. 1/2 or more of the enemy team is dead and waiting to spawn, so I can keep the remaining enemy team entertained while my team is running back with vanish, moving, healing balls (or that is the idea). Won’t say it is a prefect plan but at least I’m trying to keep the game from ending by buying some time for my team.
Guess what happens next? Yup – LW grips me back to where he is as I’m nearing the cart, I’m now disoriented and dropped back under the bridge where I didn’t die, but I can’t get to the cart in time and poof…game ends.
Had LW left me alone there was a chance I could have stalled long enough for my already running teammates to get back to the cart, but LW took away our ability to try to win the game and done.
If someone changes to LW or there is one in the team - I’m not even going to make much of an effort.

There are a few LW who can make good pulls and I will not fault them so long as they do not troll or make bad pulls.
However, I understand that many had been traumatised badly from bad pulls. Neither do I want to inflict them on my team, hence I swore off playing him till they at least rework his grip properly.

I can count on 1 hand how many “good” pulls I’ve had. The number of bad pulls would exceed way too many hands. I didn’t mind it at first since everyone was learning him but now…it just seems like another bad decision on the devs to implement what they should have known was going to be a bad and trolled mechanic without building in some sort of safety mechanism.
It was not a matter of “If” but when it was going to be abused and trolled.
It baffles me they know the OW community and yet still released it, which only further supports my summation that Blizzard has the most responsibility on the creation of the toxic community than the players they blame.
