Remove Flashpoint

Just…outright remove it. It is worse than 2CP ever was. I do not know anyone who likes the mode, only barely tolerate it.

Not knowing anyone who likes the mode is quite compelling evidence.*

I’m shocked to see people still complaining about modes like flashpoint or push that are so much better than that abomination they added called clash.

I don’t mind the mode. But I am a big fan of control. I like constant fights and it seems that’s what clash mostly is

What’s the big problem with it? Nobody ever says that part

Imo the middle 3 points are fine. Attacking the ones right outside of enemy spawn is just the worst part of 2cp back in the day. And if the teams are close, it feels pointless to even try and get it. Best case they use some ults, but getting even a tick is really hard. Banging your head against the wall fighting that point is pretty miserable imo. Win the other point, attack and lose fight on last point. Win the other point, attack and lose fight on last point a few times in a row till the game ends.

Yea I will always choose to push the final point rather than just give it up for free. Maybe you bait out an ult at least. But yea those last points are silly.

Have you tried it in 6v6? Much smoother there.

Mhm, and often quite a bit of the match takes place at the last 2 points. Making for an awful game mode imo. Certainly the worst mode currently in the game, don’t remember 2cp quite enough to have an opinion on which of the 2 are worse.

For me - it´s the running 90% of the time. The map is huge, spawns are far away and you gotta run all the time somewhere. It´s boring.

I do see people say that, I don’t really see it myself. The only extended running is between points, the spawns are about as far away as any other map.

This brings up a question I’ve had about the mode - is the point generation entirely random or is it influenced by the game (e.g., if you lose a point (or two), is the next point more likely to be closer to your spawn)?

Are you asking about flashpoint or clash? To my knowledge flashpoint is random after the first point which is always the middle one.

For clash the points are all in a straight line. Going from A B C D E. Always start at the middle fighting over C. Depending on which team wins the point it will go to either B or D. People will always know where the next point is.

Oops. Meant to ask about Flashpoint, not Clash. Clash is straightforward. I wasn’t sure if Flashpoint had some type of balancing element to its point generation to mimic the shifting advantage of a push or escort match where spawn advantage shifts over time.

Yes to my knowledge it’s totally random. So the team that wins the first point should be roughly equally as close to which ever point comes next. The problems begin imo after the second point cap. Due to rng the team that wins second point could have an advantage, if it spawns close, they can get there first since they likely just wiped the enemy team. But if it spawns across the map, the team that just lost and died will spawn closer and be able to take position around the point first.

That rng of it randomly deciding if the winning or losing team has an advantage for the following point is my main complaint about flashpoint.

Flashpoint is my jam. Huge beautiful maps with tons of sights to see and juicy flank routes.

The biggest problem I have noticed, is that it’s much easier for the steamrolling team to just never lose momentum.

If one team is lucky enough to wipe out half the team, their momentum rarely ever stops there. They just seem to win every fight after that point.

In most games I’ve played on FP, if we lose one point, that’s it, it’s game over 85% of the time.

It’s not. 20characters

The walking part other than that it’s fine.

Everything would be fixed with map type selection.
