You know, they didn’t really nerf him all that much in his run during the O1’s lifecycle. If you look at his patch history, the first nerfs came almost a year and a half after his release and prior to that it were all buffs and quality of life improvements. Afterwards there was a mix of nerfs and buffs, but overall he did not change very drastically until his tank rework. He never became meta because after the initial splash of interest he was quickly solved and became a niche hero.

It’s so funny because this playstyle drops off a cliff the higher in elo you go… wanna know why?
Because players the higher you go seem to have access to this ancient technology called “headphones”, I believe it is?
I love revisionist history when it comes to doom. All of a sudden everyone wants to act like this dude was a terrorist when, in reality he was awful for most of his OW1 run and was only ever meta one time because double shield made every other dps unplayable so he was all that was left.

It’s funny because I play Junk and yeah as Junk, you can deal with Doom pretty consistently (in my experience, anyway)
But he’s being disingenuous because Doom wasn’t oppressive back in the day for a BUNCH of reasons such as his punch having glitches and Sombra being actually accurate to how she was back then and not the mess she is right now where nobody is playing her. If Sombra was in a better state, Doom wouldn’t be played anywhere near as much.

He’s objectively horrible to play against, or even with. The only people that enjoy him are the ones that play him because they know he’s brokenly overpowered and they love it.
As much as I love Classic and don’t want it to leave, I will be relishing in the misery of Doomfist DPS mains losing access to their broken hero again. It’s what they deserve, and it’ll be my silver lining of having to put up with this nonsense.

Brokenly overpowered- remind us again why Doomfist never dominated the ladder, the high ranks, top 500, never influenced the meta, and never had a strong presence in with the pros?
Doomfist at his best, which was during a high shield Meta and only a few heroes like Doomfist could do much, saw a pick rate of roughly once every other game by one team - lower with lower ranks, and his win rate began to fall quite a bit as his pick rate went up.
Why weren’t people using this “brokenly overpowered” character more? Especially amongst pros where winning is the focus above all else?
Weird how that didn’t happen.

I didn’t bring up elos to do with classic. I’m talking about players with game sense, can hear him coming, hence why rollout playstyle gets worse and worse the higher you go… because people have ears and can IN FACT, hear him coming from over rooftops.
But then again, from reading a bit of this thread. You’re someone who agrees with Flare, a known bot to me. So it doesn’t matter what you say, because you go in the neatly folded pile of players who have the game sense of a traffic cone, and complain about a hero who was complete garbage for a majority of his existence.
And no, it doesn’t matter how much revisionist history you guys try. The hero is trash. And guess what, he’s still trash even in the classic mode, because this is the same patch from September 2017 when shocker! He was weak.

You’re the one calling him bin-tier, so apparently you, but why is that Doom mains can scream all day if they run a lobby it’s a “skill issue”, but if you say it’s a skill issue when countered or not able to play well enough to be effective enough, it’s trolling? Why the hypocrisy?
At the end of the day, DPS Doom isn’t fun for anyone but his mains.

You do understand, that goes for ANY bad hero… anyone getting diffed by a bad hero, it’s a skill issue. That isn’t just a doomfist thing.
