There is nothing classic about Doomfist. He was always a mistake.
Show us on the doll where Doomfist punched you
My favorite is how every game in classic is a rotating roster of leavers because doom is taken
You know it to be true. Doomfist was always a mistake. Devs tried to mitigate it by turning him into a tank, but this displeases the vast majority of Doom players b/c they know he was broken and enjoyed it that way.
The thing I’ve always liked about dps Doom is how he exposes the players who have the awareness of a plastic bag.
This exactly plus to all widow haters here’s the perfect counter if you know how to play him
Considering he was in the patch that OWC is on, yeah he’s classic.
I didn’t have many issues with doom, just go Cree and wait for him to jump in expecting to win the 1vs. Team and just a quick flashbang gets him killed.
RISING UPPERCUT
~ silence for 30 seconds while he makes 0 noise cause he is abusing the rooftops of buildings within the map ~
BOOM
Both supports dead before anyone in the team knows what happened, team fight lost. He can pretty much choose to stay up there as long as he likes, makes no noise and you cannot predict when he is going to land the impact.
I’m very happy that doom mains are enjoying classic as much as I am right now, and as funny as I find your comment, when Plat doomfists are assassinating master level support players without them having any time to react, it is simply not a game sense problem. He is blatantly overtuned and is almost designed to take advantage of ridiculous buggy mechanics to freeze people in place and get kills.
Really makes you wonder why Doomfist basically never dominated the ladder, never dominated high rank, never dominated t500, never dominated the meta, and never dominated pro play.
You’d think players would line up left and right to play such a blatantly over tuned hero stomper back then.
Oddly enough the only time he was ever more than a niche pick was during high shield metas (and really only one of them) as he was one of the few heroes that could play well around shields. he saw his pick rate climb to a blistering amount - relatively once every other game at the higher ranks (less in lower) though his win rate odd fell as well as his pick rate went up.
Yes because he didn’t have audio bugs at all. Same with Pharah and Reaper.
Doom has wrecked every mode he’s ever been in, even arcade and event modes. I don’t think he can be fun and not busted at the same time. He needs to be totally reworked in live.
He’s much better as a tank at least. I just find it hilarious that the DPS Doom players refuse to accept he was broken by bugs and unfair and unfun to play against in any rank.
It’s like they needed him to be broken or they can’t use him.
It’s almost like when you know where he is you can…React and move or be ready with sleep etc.
See my awareness of a plastic bag comment.
Supports when they need awareness instead of being able to say no to everything for free.
Dps Doom is and always has been a noobstomper. He was never good in high ranks because playing around him has always been nothing more than an awareness check. The skill floor for the Doom mains who did manage to make him work in masters/gm was so ridiculously high and it’s why nobody but his few diehard mains played him.
Idk if I don’t see the Doom I can just look at his predictable rollout spots because if he’s not there he’s doing nothing of value anyway. Basic awareness is all it takes.
That’s fine and dandy, but when his audio bugs out NEXT to you and he’s silently punching you into a wall, awareness doesn’t help.
Rotate your camera and look at him?
Once again, if he’s not producing any sound, you can’t tell he’s there. Why are you ignoring that aspect?
Reaper and Pharah suffer from the same audio bug.
Basic awareness. You can also notice that he isn’t in the fight and look to where he’s going to be…It’s not like his rollouts aren’t well known. Why do you expect to survive not knowing a hero is right next to you? Anybody would kill you in that situation.
Dude, you’re straight out ignoring the fact he’s BUGGING OUT HIS AUDIO and is silent coming off rooftops and slamming. By the time you realize it, it’s too late.
It’s just a bug, nothing less.
You’re ignoring what I said about having the basic awareness that one of their team isn’t in the fight and that his rollouts are extremely predictable.
So you don’t see him? Look at where he’s going to be. This isn’t difficult.
