For some reason, even though every other DPS has damage falloff limiting their damage output, Widowmaker, the strongest DPS, doesn’t. Granted, she is a sniper, so if anyone shouldn’t have damage falloff, it’s her. But then again, why does everyone else have damage falloff?
By removing hitscan damage falloff from the game, it would let most hitscan DPS harass and duel widowmaker. Most hitscan DPS heroes already have a spread on their attacks that severely reduces their effectiveness at long range, why have falloff on the shots that do hit?
(Although if this is done, McCree definitely shouldn’t get the fire rate buff on the PTR. He honestly shouldn’t have it at all).
Lets not break the game, widow is good in long but she is at disadvantage in CQC.
You want every DPS is viable in every range

Because sniper rounds go so much faster and farther than normal bullets that falloff would be pointless and not logical

I’d rather face a mccree with no falloff than a widowmaker any time. Mccree can’t one-shot me outside of his flashbang range.
widowmaker needs her mobility hard nerfed so she cant reposition herself all the time… she needs 20sec cooldown on grappl
thats what people thought at first until you played againts him
its basically like playing againts mccree now just that you cant see him, your team is dying but no one could do anything, you try diving but he keeps doing insane damage from a distance so you die before you get to him
widow at least has delay on her shots so she cant spam like a cree with no fall off

Widowmaker barely has a delay now that she’s had a fire rate buff. She’s just as nasty as mccree, but since her damage is in the form of one-shot kills, healers are ineffective and tanks have to slow down to bubble themselves.
snipers have been getting indirectly buffed every season, one shots are not really a problem in itself but when you nerf abilites that directly affects them and release maps that are sniper friendly its a problem
like i strongly believe discord nerf and speedboost nerf made snipers stronger, discord was good againt snipers and speedboost was good at chasing kills like sniper positions
they released maps like junkertown, paris, havana, rialto, blizzard world and busan which are all way too sniper friendly

Widowmaker has dummy long range, let’s fix this by making every other hitscan have the same thing.
Consequences don’t include:
- destroying Pharah completely as a concept
- officially solidifying hitscan as the dominant damage dealers in the game after a years worth of power creep
- breaking balance as we know it
Here’s an idea, dive the Widow.
i take it you weren’t there when mcree didn’t have damage fall off in beta. it was so cancerous, you wouldn’t need a sniper, a mcree would do. if anything, widow also needs damage fall off. there are maps where she can stand wayyyyyyyy on the back and still one shot someone, even through cracks, while the counter play doesn’t exist other than mirror. maps like junkertown first point, dorado second point, gibraltar. in high tiers she kills you before you get there or gets immediately peeled and your dive is taken advantage of
Yeah she’s for sure at a disadvantage there, but it’s so satisfying forcing a Winston to primal by yourself though if you can manage it.

We have someone who can res, another who can hack someone so they forget how to run, bombs that do not destroy the environment, someone who can stop people from dying in a specific zone, an unlimited supply of mech suits for a teen, a guy who somehow steals health with his plethora of massive shot guns under his jacket, and also a hamster who not only builds his own robot but operates it as well.
I don’t think this game has much logic behind it.
That will only make all projectile dps completely useless.
