So, hear me out. This armor change affects D.Va much more than other tanks because of the location of her crit box and because her only defensive ability is also being nerfed at the same time.
More heroes now get an armor bonus, particularly for head shots. With both the armor nerfs, and the DM nerf, D.Va now is too weak for your average D.Va player to be able to use her effectively.
EDIT: Please Read this before commenting. Many people are reading the title and not reading both points
I propose a trade off that I think will help her without making her OP.
1. Buff her by removing her crit box entirely. Don’t just make it smaller, eliminate it.
2. Nerf her by removing 100 health. Make her 300 hp / 200 armor.
DM already blocked the least amount of damage of any ability that blocks damage. Now that it has double the cooldown, she needs a bit more physical tankiness. Even with 100 less health, if her crit box is gone she should be better off against most enemies though she’ll be more vulnerable to Zarya, Sym, Bastion, and Moira who don’t headshot anyway.
It’s a trade off, but I think her PTR self needs something.

just revert the dva armour/health nerf so she has 400 armour and 200 hp

I’ll take anything. She already melted like butter in the hot sun, and it is worse now.

I completely disagree with you. D.Va is a must pick for how long? 2 years? She was in every meta at least since S3.
That little nerf is necessary and won’t kill her.

Only in the pro scene. D.Va’s pick rates in Diamond weren’t anything grand. And this will absolutely kill her on ladder. She’s a complete throw pick on the PTR.

I’m surprised she got such a small nerf. It’ll let pros play around her better but on ladder she’s basically the same must pick she’s always been.

Let’s keep talking about pick and not winrate nor gameplay mh ? Like how it feels to play as her.
These points matter more than pickrate.

No thanks.
I rather see how she performs first with the nerfs. I don’t think she will be useless, broken or F-tier with the nerfs and I don’t think she needs a compensation buff.

You can only hit her crit box from one side. D.va always has it better than people realize.

This. No thank you. Every nerf people whine that it will make her a troll pick and it’s always quite the opposite. Maybe wait and see how it plays out first

Ah yes, the S-Tier tactics of “Really good at retreating” and “Don’t look at it! Maybe it’ll go away!”
If this was half as good as people pretend it is, Hammond would be a god.

That will make her more tanky than she is now, without the armor nerf.
Hello? D.Va is 150 normal health for this reason: She’s a teen. Normal humans aren’t fully developed until their early-to-mid 20s. Bodybuilders won’t be in top form until their 30s. Operating a Korean MEKA doesn’t really require much in strength. 150 is exactly where she should be in reality.
Can’t hit the crit from the side while she’s attacking your teammates or from behind while she murdering your supports. It’s a fair balance.
People don’t realize how many perks D.va really has.
She’s one of the most effective characters through the game’s history ongoing and people pretend like she’s struggling to scrape by.
She’s not a must pick. Zarya is out classing her in every way my guy.

i agree with you on a lot of things but cant here, i think it should be reduced by 20% though
What are you on about? I wasn’t talking about baby D.Va. I was referring to the mech.

U guys are dumb. Do you not look at overbuff, she has a 5% pick rate and 50% win rate. Nerfing a character with a 50% winrate literally makes them a trash pick.

The armor changes hits her too hard. It’s worse for her than any other tank.
Unfortunately, I don’t think she’ll be any good at middle to lower ranks without a buff. I get that she was really good in the pro scene, but on ladder she didn’t need any nerfs much less two nerfs.
I’ve mained her since day one and I’m probably going to move on to a different hero.
