Why is there chat in this game when everything said in chat is toxic. If people want to communicate, get on voice chat. Text chat serves no purpose but to promote toxicity.
I have played over 5000 games and Have quite literally never seen anything positive other than “GG” or “GLHF”

Also some prefer text over voice, because some don’t know what push to talk is and have consistent noises occur, which is annoying asf. For a game that sound is fairly important.
No. Dont remove anything. People are supposed to say who was being more toxic in a match and call out players who are cheating.
If chat is bothering you so much, just disable or mute it.

I strongly believe Overwatch would be a better game with all types of chat off. I have around 1200 hours played, and still love and enjoy overwatch. I honestly think had I had voice chat on I’d hate it by now.
You can manually do it yourself if you are getting triggered by it that much. I don’t understand the complain behind this. There are options for you to turn off chat. No, one is holding you back for doing it so.
Painting over a moldy wall in your house doesnt stop the mold from growing/spreading. Hiding chat doesnt stop people from being toxic in chat where everyone else can see it.
Removing chat all together does just that.
No, I don’t want chat removed just to cater to some people. Again, if you are hurting from reading the chat, turn it off. You do not need to speak for someone else, they can do the same if they’re hurt too. There is a option in game to turn off everything.

And these are used so much that they lost their meaning. Quite often people that say “gg” or “gr” are almost always on the winning team. One KotH map the other team won round 1 and someone said “GR!”. The next round we won and they didn’t say anything. I asked “Wasn’t this a gr as well” and they replied “yeah just didn’t feel like saying it”. 
I actually agree. The chat is useless and only hurts the gameplay experience. It is not really worth having it just to have an actual useful teammate in 1 of 50 games.
Disable global chat in game, but keep team chat.
You can hide the chat btw if you don’t want it to show.
Anyway, I am hard of hearing and I often use the team chat to communicate during rounds, so no, not everyone uses it just for toxicity
