Oh, no it isn’t.
One ground slam and a uppercut and shoot in 0,5 sec is fun.
Yes, Doomfist is BS but there are some supports that can handle his combo.
Shield bash, Fade and Sleep dart all work well in turning Doomfist into Pwnedfist.
Doomfist restricts you even further with an already small hero pool, great
Tbf, even when you CC him, his shields and high health mean you’re still no threat to him as a support. He’ll just kill you as soon as he can move again and your CC will be on cooldown.
Ah, but there will be times he isn’t in the hero pool, which is a week of bliss without him lol.
I also made a post recently about fighting Doomfist. It was a horrible experience, at some point it s not even a gid gud issue anymore.
I like dive bombing him with valk.
Eh, he’s not horribly annoying to me. At least not as much as he used to be (it helps that he’s not in every game anymore.) Sure, it sometimes irritating when he drops out of the sky and punches you from nowhere, but his combos aren’t as irritating as they used to be, and as a support player, I’ve learned a few ways to play around him that have worked for me.
It’s fairly common to sleep a doomfist and die anyway.
His shields are just plain dumb.
He can literally leave a fight with 1 health but with 50+ shields.
I already hate it when Hammond does smth similar, but he’s a tank.
What’s Doomfist’s excuse?
I rarely died to his punch, it s the slam shoot animation cancellation to uppercut that gets me most of the time, so I either actively look behind/up for him and barely heal my team or focus on healing and got insta gibbed in less than a second.
But would appreciate a few tricks to survive him on my own.
Ana is good because his combo has a predictable movement pattern that she can easily sleep. Moira can fade out without issue. Mercy can fly out after getting uppercutted and usually survive. Lucio can cling to a wall or boop him back to interrupt the combo. Brig bash. Poor Zen is the only one that suffers a lot from him lol.
Though, admittedly, a lot of those survival rates depend on a teammate turning around to help you finish him after you survive/interrupt the combo. Part of the reason it’s always important to be in voice as a healer lol
What about Baptiste? I usually jump to high ground to look for him but feel hopeless when IF is on cool down or he gibbed me faster than IF deployment
Ana: Sleep him
Bap: Use field and aim for the head, or Crouch and spam it to force him to use all of his abilities, making him a sitting duck
Zen: Welp…it’s Zen, good luck
Lucio: BEEP BOOP
Mercy: You’re playing Mercy, you’re kinda going to get focused a lot so…idk???
Brig: Shield Bash and Flail
Moira: It’s karma for playing Moira
Catch me totally forgetting about Bap lmao. But yeah, jumping around is the way to do it. Also, you can interrupt his punch if you toss immortality at just the right moment, making him punch that instead of you, but it’s tough. (And also potentially not worth using it for that purpose now with the longer cooldown.)
He struggles a bit, but again, even he has ways to survive.
Play Brig 20characte
Thats cause u r not supposed to kill him. If you land a CC your team must follow up and kill him, not you.
I will, when the Goat skin comes out.
Other flankers get toasted if they got slept, but not Doom.
THIS! The devs are very careful to nerf Doomfist but apparently ignore the fact that his only presence leave support players with less choices. If you combine that fact with other factors, like the presence of double shields or other hard counters, any support hero feels unplayable.
Sometimes, we don’t really have many choices and being Support is just a miserable experience.
