Recently Aaron Keller said that they would have to remake archive missions from scratch due to the new engine used for overwatch 2, and i REALLY think they should do that, here’s why:
• The hero talents that were scrapped from OW2 are essentially getting added back into the game with the new Perk system & Stadium mode, so in theory it shouldn’t be hard to add them into the pve missions, obviously it’d be a lot fun to have them, but the most important thing is that a perk/talent system would make the missions to be played the way they were meant to be, the way the devs originally envisioned them.
• Right now no one plays Invasion missions simply because it doesn’t offer any ‘replayability’, it also doesn’t reward players, and a way to change that would be to include previous battle pass rewards & loot boxes from completing the missions, i remember people used to play the Archives missions all the time because of the loot boxes with rewards you could only get during that time, like the blackwatch skins for example, it would also make playing with bots way less frequent, and that’s a great thing on itself because playing with a bot party feels awful.
I honestly think that the Invasion bundle would sell like hot cakes if we could have the invasion + archives missions with hero talents and cosmetics as rewards, it’d be a great value for the money spent and i bet a lot of people would buy it
