Yknow for a learning algorithm, it’s pretty stupid. As a bonus? The game also drops you from matches that haven’t even started yet where the heroes haven’t even spawned. It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Because if you’re talking comp, only sissy ragequitters leave (with the exception of leaving when there’s a troll on the team, or when there’s a literal emergency.)

I assume you’re talking about something other than comp. Just play a different game mode if you leave a match. Can’t get dropped into a game with the same dropkicks if you switch to the arcade.
He is talking about QP, when you leave a match and you start looking for another game, the algorithm makes him join the same match.
Just play another game mode or wait a few minutes so someone can join that match.

There are a myriad of realworld issues that fall under the same logic that you just used for this.
Clearly, if someone left a QP match, on purpose, they wouldn’t want to be placed back in it.
If you leave a QP match, and immediately try to rejoin, the system may be assuming you got disconnected and would want to continue the game.
But also: Leaving games, even in QP, is disruptive to the other players and complicates matchmaking; Blizzard is not going to try and improve the experience for leavers, because they would like people not to leave games.

It’s his fault for intentionally leaving. Blizz shouldn’t accommodate these kind of behavior.
Beside it’s called quick play. The quickest way to match him is to put him in a match he already match for.
inb4 But I’m losing. Match making is broken.

Use “avoid player” on someone on your team and you won’t get put in the same match
No, the game knows when you click a button. It would know you’d intentionally left the game.

I have a suggestion. I know it sounds crazy and really, really out of the world but listen to me for a second.
How about you don’t leave games. Problem solved.
That kind of suggestion only works when everyone does it. Overwatch can’t even do it in comp with penalties. I am willing to bet cash money a lot less quickplay will be played if you got penalized for leaving.
