I keep spamming the rejoin match button and the sound registers but it literally does nothing. It might send me to the map loading screen for a split second and then immediately go back to the main menu.

I also had this issue.
I DC’d from a ranked game (and was penalized, of course) and tried to rejoin. Instead, I ended up pulling my friend I was duo queuing out of the ranked game I just DC’d from.
So not only was I penalized for a DC because I couldn’t rejoin a game, but I also penalized the rest of my team by pulling my friend out of the ranked game I wanted to complete. My friend was not penalized however…
Theoretically then, you can have a 5 queue with one burner account that leaves when you don’t want to play the game. They get a 15 minute ban, but they can then hit the “rejoin game” button and pull the other 4 members out of the game without them receiving a penalty.
For that, this bug should be addressed soon as it allows leavers the opportunity to work together and actually leave games without penalty.

Just had the exact same issue.
Got disconnected from a ranked match (where we were winning by a large margin) even though my connection is fine, tried to rejoin less than 60 seconds after that, and the game wouldn’t allow me.
Really wish Blizzard would fix these connection mistakes already. Game’s really fun and I’m a longtime fan, but these kinds of things really make me so freaking sad. I’m being constantly penalized by things that aren’t even my fault…
