Reinstall for performance boost

So I noticed lately my OW was being weird, texture issues, fps drops, slower load times even on ssd. Especially since the event.

So I just reinstalled the game. My installation directory went from 27-28GB to around 13-14GB. Now my fps seem more stable and I load in instantly again. Just thought i’d share in case anyone else has been having issues since the latest patch.

I might give this a shot. My Overwatch exe alone is over 40Gb.

I already tried that so many times… my game seems to have these random times it forgets its supposed to work and has lag spikes everytime a new animation/effect loads, and my laptop isn’t very good at cooling itself down in long play sections, if anyone can help me with how to help it cool down faster would be cool

Put it on a cooled laptop stand. If you can’t do that, raise it off the desk by putting something under each side of it. Make sure there is an air gap under it for the heat to escape.

i have a large fan(like one of those $15-20 walmart ones) just pressed up against my laptop 24/7 when im playing, graphics are turned all the way down(make sure to check in advanced options), and my fps is capped at 30 or else it freaks out. I play on my desktop most of the time, but that makes the temp on my laptop go from like 95-100 degrees celsius down to about 80, and it usually runs okay at that temp.

Mine goes at like 90 degrees max, it’s a samsung odyssey and apparently it has cooling issues even tho it has some “revolutionary cooling” (lol) I guess i’ll buy one of those cooling stands if it gets too bad, thanks for the idea tho

My old dell laptop had this issue, but what I did could be a bit much for some people. I opened it up, found a huge dust bunny in the fan, and I decided to reapply the thermal paste and this fixed everything. But some laptops just have bad cooling.

i personally discovered that a lot of my problem was the fact that when OW was running, my integrated graphics card thing on my laptop(man idk my friend built my desktop for me, not a computer buff RIP) was running at 140 celsius while the rest of my computer that was being picked up by OW was only at 80 degrees. the support team has directions to open certain files that can help you figure out exactly what the issue is too. You might be able to contact them and have them check all the data out.
