No tank should win the natural match up against all other tanks. What’s wrong with Orisa is what’s wrong with rein rn. Absurdly bulky and no real way to deal with him UNLESS you’re counter picking

Reins definitely a hero that I think is stronger on most of the ladder than most might give credit for initially.
He’s been so subpar for so long though that I think many won’t want to say it (kinda like we saw with pharah) off the bat, or will be ok with it “because it’s rein”
How is that different from basically every other tank?
If Rein has a Lucio you kinda have no choice but to duel him lol. He’s got so much health and shield health that he’ll just run over your backline. I find that Doom and Monkey work well against him though diving his backline. Doom doesn’t win the 1v1 duel, no tank does but he can bully and annoy Rein the easiest with his low cooldown on punch
Is Rein too good, or have players not adapted well enough to the skill check of “tank who’s almost all melee, but built to push forward”
I see it like an OW1 Bastion situation. If your team wasn’t able to work together and stop the undisputed worst hero in the game, you lost the teamwork check and didn’t deserve to win.
If you can’t find a way to either focus the shield or kill the backline of a melee range tank, maybe your team didn’t deserve to win. Rein shouldn’t be running up on your whole team all game uncontested, nor should he be magically entirely immortal on the point. Something’s off if your team lets that happen. I think he dies just fine when I counter him as Hog/Rein or his team as Ball/Winston

I mean if you’re brain dead than yeah counter picking is the only way to win the game. You’ve seemed to miss my point about the neutral fight

Probably spend more time playing Rein and know when to block and when to charge.
Most Rein’s que with ana or heals. So psychologically they have 1 up on you.
If you are solo queing, you have counter swap or just be better.
I can make the same argument for Mauga that you did for Rein. Giga tanks incentivize giga counterwatch. It’s not complicated

Mauga has a very large punish window can’t say the same for rein. It’s just constant up time
Rein has infinite range, a ranged stun, a DM + shield AND he can make himself immune to CC while gaining extra health (and possibly crit resistence, I don’t remember)?

I’d argue he should, as all other tanks don’t need you to be in hug range to do real damage. Yeah, he has firestrike. But that has a nice CD and is pretty easy to sidestep.
Every other tank has a distance enabling gun.
Then once you get into that box of death that is rein’s reach, you have problems. Otherwise he’s not a threat anywhere, he’s just a shield. Let’s not go back to that.

rein does too much damage now i had a game as rein with 22k damage its rediculous. On par with release mauga. The damage tank (hog) is literally obsolete its so boring i hate that flats pushed so hard for rein buffs he was already good just had to play him smart now its just dumb
ult and sheild buffs over time made him extremely annoying to play against, and honestly on somee maps his ult going the distance it does now plus climbing certain terrain feels awful to play against
rein started getting good with the season 11 armour change, where bastion couldnt just melt him as fast as before
no offence but what elo is that match you are describing? In my elo (gold) people are smart enough to go flying characters as soon as i pick rein or long range characters

I do not believe any tank currently does that. And if one were close, it DEFINITELY wouldn’t be Reinhardt.

This now makes a lot of sense. Like i wish I knew this before.
i play wide queue with friends so im playing against plats and diamonds and i can never get out of gold bc i am always placed in matches so lopsided against me, so i just gave up on playing comp and just play qp exclusively
It is truly a sad day when gold console players understand not to stand in front of a hammer, but the forums do not get it.
The developers are quite literally never going to win. These kids would cry about a hero that hurt itself while dealing damage just because it killed them.
