It is kind of annoying when you are rein and trying to run away from a mei with your shield fully up and she’s freezing the shield and you slow down.

Mei can’t freeze through Reinhardt’s shield.
She has to walk through his shield to freeze him.
What can happen is that Reinhardt is lifting his shield up a bit and she is hitting him by his feet.

The whole point of the post is that if Mei is freezing his shield it causes Rein to basically be stuck in place. Not that she’s freezing him through his shield.

Feels weird as a whole, but the shield is affected by those type of abilities/primary.
You can also watch it burn from Ashe’s Dynamite.

I honestly just chalked it up to intended. Since it can take burn damage from Dynamite. That and it’s been around for so long.

Not really, the second the shield goes down he still can’t move and is vulnerable to being frozen, which actually has reduced time because of the effect applied to his shield.
Whoa you can do that? I usually just go right up in his face and freeze him directly.
This is why Rein needs a Shield Bash to push back enemies that get near.
Which she can’t do as well.
Freezing Reinhardt’s shield doesn’t affect Reinhardt at all other than slowly losing shield health.
What can happen though is Mei’s slow being stacked with Reinhardt’s self slow when he is holding his shield up making him as good as immobile, but Mei has to hit Reinhardt and not his shield.
(I’m a Mei main who occasionally play Reinhardt.)
Reinhardt doesn’t need a buff.

I have 400+ hours on Rein with many encounters with a Mei. It will and can make him practically immoble at all without hitting him directly, just his shield.
Try playing Wrecking Ball and having Mei remove all the momentum you’ve built up.

It Used to, but they put the little bubble bump on his arm (invisible hitbox, not actual) and it went away.

Again, Mei can’t freeze or slow down Reinhardt when he is shielding himself from Mei’s freeze.

Literally had it happen to me multiple times in a game today. Her gun was not through the threshold of my shield, nor was any part of her character model.
You can’t.
Then please show it to me if you have some recordings of it.
If not, then I consider it not true and Mei not being capable of freezing and/or slowing down Reinhardt through his shield.
(I haven’t encountered it once. Not as a Mei main nor as someone who occasionally play Reinhardt.)
What can happen though is that the slow of Reinhardt’s shield and the slow of Mei’s freeze being stacked:

Except it doesn’t. If she tags him by getting close he gets slowed but his shield is already slowing him so it’s a super slow. Just shooting his shield doesn’t really do anything. It shows that it froze but nothing happens.

There’s actually a bit of a glitch around the center of the shield that occasionally let’s some damage through.
