Ever since I’ve downloaded, I haven’t gained any more progression than 6%. All of my friends gain around 12 or something. It never matters my stats or specific hero stats, it won’t go up. And I lose around 12%. What is happening??
Are you in bronze? %-Gain/Loss is much lower the lower rank you are.
Maybe that’s why then
This isn’t true. The percentage gains/losses depend on whether or not the matchmaker thinks you belong at your current rank.
No. It does not “think” at all.
The only things going into ones rank are wins/losses, the modifiers and the certainty of an account.
There is no dark-voodoo-prediction of the future to determine ones skill and change of MMR because of it.
There are literally modifiers to your rank gains/losses based on an expected win or less by the matchmaker.
You mean these:
But the matchmaker doesn’t need to “think” or make any predictions for these, they are just based on average MMR of both teams
The matchmaker does “think” about where you belong in terms of rank and will try to boost you with much higher gains when you win, if it thinks you should rank higher. It also keeps you where you are with lower gains, if it thinks you don’t. These are things you can see yourself by just playing the game.
It does not.
I play the game, and I don’t see them.
Everything I see lines up pretty well with what the devs said about MMR
there is still a bronze bug that has yet to be fixed. they claimed to have fixed it once, then realized they didn’t, then claimed to have fixed it a second time, apologizing on record for not fixing it the first time. it’s still in the game, meaning the system isn’t working for at least some accounts (possibly for all accounts).
since they can’t deal with most bug reports (see bug report forums), it stands to reason they have missed several MM bugs, and/or no clue what the MM code actually does.
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of what the modifiers are for.
And further proof that they should never have given them names and made them public.
There is no proof of that, and no proof you shouldn’t be bronze.
