Hey there,
I quick topic to expose an idea I got.
What if weapon accuracy was refined to depict more accurately when you actively try to hit something rather than zoning or shooting random signs in Numbani.
A bullpark idea could start with counting shots in the accuracy stats only when there are ennemy players in your fov (except for Ana which would also account for friendly players). Also, shots on shields shouldn’t count in the accuracy stat as shooting a gigantic static shield isn’t a metric most people are really interested to know about.
I think it would help players to notice if they’re missing too many shots or not more accurately, it could also prove beneficial to players to know if they really land 50% of their shots with McCree or if they only land 30% and the rest was made with shield shots.
For instance, I usually end up with less than 30% accuracy with Tracer, while Overbuff says the average is at 34%. Now, I wish to know if it is because I really need to improve my aim with Tracer or is it because I don’t shoot enough shields, or because I zone too much, or any other reason, but for now, the metric isn’t precise enough to give me real conclusions.
