Reduce CC effects on all tanks

Being a tank should grant some natural resistance to the vast number of CC abilities in this game.

Maybe it means tanks physically move less distance when knocked, or an applied stun is cut shorter for them, but please do something for us tank players to make us FEEL tanky again. We inevitably get hit with everything, we’re the largest targets, we’re defending the objective. A tank’s job does involve taking hits to an extent, but we can’t do that well when we are down more or equal to our teammates.

No tank buffs unless they are QoL

That means dps will have trouble looking flashy in OWL if they can’t play pinball with the enemies’ tanks

Lucio boops a tank more easily than a DPS.

The only CC that I absolutely despise as a tank is sleep. Tanks are already huge targets and easy to hit and on top of that, you are possibly out of the fight for up to six seconds, if not dead from being vulnerable for so long.

CC is support / tank oriented

This is extremely dangerous sentiment. Overwatch tanks aren’t supposed to operate like WoW tanks, soaking damage and debuffs isn’t really their job.

Tanks aren’t supposed to be ‘tanky’ per se, and trying to balance like that is just going to make them even more powerful than they already are.

I know right? poor babies

Confirmed :frowning: it’s fun for Lucio, not so much for the tanks

I hard agree with this, and actually feel threatened by this when playing any character :joy: didn’t they change it to 5 seconds? I think sleep should be 3-4 seconds for a tank instead - it would still suck but 5 or 6 seconds is an actual eternity in this game

It makes sense.
Still, it feels a bit against nature how a tank flies so easily at a sound wave.

I think all tanks should have rein’s steadfast. Boops should not displace them so hard.

I’m sorry but i do think it is their job - but yes balance of course should still be considered. in the same way a dps character you would expect to pump out more damage, or a support to kick out a buff for the team - i look to and play tanks for those very purposes. The extent should be discussed but tanks should absolutely be able to do their job, and their space should have reasons to be respected

I am not sure how I feel about this suggestion. Avoiding CC and dealing with CC is part of the skill of playing a tank. Tanks are the most powerful role so they are a natural target for CC. Without it, they will often do whatever they want and roll over your team.

Then you are wrong? Tanks are supposed to make space.

Winston and Wrecking ball are the only tanks who don’t have their space respected, but that would be because they are dive tanks who operate differently from any other main tank.

Agree, but we have so many characters with CC abilities is the game that it gets to be a bit unreasonable with certain comps. I’m only asking for a reduction in effect and not immunity

It’s actually 5 seconds now but ya it should scale with HP but its cooldown justifies its length

Since your profile is private i have no idea what your tanking experience is. I still disagree with you, but i do agree that ‘tanks make space’ - it’s just saying this is a bit of an oversimplification, and does not speak to how they go about making that space.

When tanks and healers stop being what determine the meta because of how valuable, viable, and easy they are then yeah sure.

The majority of CC in the game isn’t really any easier to hit large targets with compared to small targets.

Sleep and bionade are both atrocious to play into. Ana is great to have on your team but fills me with dread and boredom when playing into her. Kinda like Sombra tbh

It hurts my soul when I get hacked as a main tank and then get complaints from my team that I’m not shielding. :sob:

It has happened too many times and I don’t know what to expect anymore because of how pesky Sombra is when no one focuses her.
