Red dots instead of players (PC)

After 1.41.0.0 patch other players in game appear randomly as red dots. Usually it happens in my first few games after starting OW, but sometimes it happens after ~30 minutes too.

It can also happen 2-3 minutes into game, after my hero died.

It’s also weird when I try to skip my death cam after being killed by a red dot by pressing ESC, I get a blurry screen with no buttons. After ~5 seconds the menu buttons appear.

Game is installed on an SSD.

These red dots are placeholders for characters that aren’t loaded in.

I’d recommend you take this issue to #technical-support so they can diagnose what’s causing the issue.

Do so by editing this topic and changing the post destination to #technical-support.

Oh, I understand now. This is when you don’t buy Overwatch 2. You will only see red dot for the new characters. They will shot you and you can’t shot them back. What a wonderful game. Just kidding.

This happen to me too. I will buy Overwatch 2. Please let me play my game until 2 come out.

I am using a Dell laptop Inspiron 7559 with Intel Core i7-6700HQ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M.

Thanks for the video, Cerolok! There’s been some reports of this in the past, so it’s likely not caused by Overwatch 2 pre-orders, but we’ll continue to monitor for any additional reports.

This problem is usually an issue with the models not loading properly, such as graphical issues within Overwatch or connection. Could you take a screenshot of HWMonitor while Overwatch is running for a few minutes or until the issue occurs? If possible, I’d be interested in a screenshot of the network graph (press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC while in-game) as well while this occurs.

A free image sharing site like imgur can be used and just the end of the link can be posted.

(IN OVERWATCH 2) This exact thing happened to me for a whole game and I have shadow played it. Not only do the dots happen to enemy players but my actual playermodel itself turned into a dot and I could no longer see the gunmodel on my screen. I also have recordings of it happening.
