Current owners of Overwatch 1 pay $20 to upgrade to Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 costs $40 on a fresh account.
Seems fair to me. Thoughts?

Pretty fair, dlc for most games is $20
Could not have rolled my eyes more.
Some people have not been following the info on the game since announcement
19.99 sounds fair for an upgrade.
I gotta think about Blizzard’s bottom line for this one. $40 for OW1 and OW2, individually. So $80 for both. $120 for Origin edition. $240 for some collector’s edition with Tracer’s lipstick included.
Sounds like wishful thinking though
Honestly a pretty reasonable price.
Tough to know how much it’s worth when the game sounds like it’s over a year away. It’s just going to come down to content really. Figure the default is $40 being that’s what OW1 cost.
I want to say $20 being the knock of OW2 being DLC isn’t just going to go away, I don’t care how much the try to claim otherwise. They want to leverage the 50million players and move ALL of us over to OW2 PvP being that gains then leverage with marketing deals and OWL sponsors etc.
Also the more people who upgrade, the better it is for everyone playing PvE player base wise.
but honestly knock $10-$15 off the full price as an upgrade and I’m ok with a $25-$30 price point. I mean lets be realistic here, a sheet cake at Costco is $19. People are acting like $20 is a lot of money, it’s not, at all.
I think it’s absolutely fine, i was expecting 30 tbh.
It’d honestly be a smart move from blizz cause the lower the price is, the more people will buy it cause it’s cheaper, and will make them more monies in the long run.
I’m just mad that I might have to upgrade my pc in order to get play on the new engine at a good framerate. That’s going to cost a lot more than whatever the base price of OW2 will be.
I think that’s way undercutting the developers. Even though the pvp experience is going to be the same, the work put into getting a campaign mode, with voice actors, choreography, new maps, the art that’s going into the new character models, new abilities, and a heavily improved graphics engine on top of all of that is far from being insignificant.
20 is ok…but they will ask 40 minimum, and 60 for deluxe edition
$40 new, $30 for legacy players seems reasonable to me. Obviously I’d take less if I could get it, but that would be asking too much I think
You people are also likely the kind of people who complained because they thought smash ultimate was just an expansion/addon.
Big yikes
yea cuz they dont make billions from loot boxes right?
Sounds good to me. Is that the confirmed price?
The real question is how much will you pay for longer queue times? Many dps players already have 10 minutes or longer to get a match.
New pve mode will slim down the player base and stretch queue times even more. Are you prepared for that?
If it’s all new content and new modes, they deserve their compensation of $60 just like any other sequel to a video game.
Your paying for some PvE missions and a few origins edition style skins
$20~30 is fair
