The TP animation is only shortened on the initial “entering” phase of Shadow Step. Not only does this ruin juking, but it doesn’t make engaging with TP any more effective. You’re still just appearing very slowly.
So the only thing you really get out of this is a TP that’s 8.5m shorter than default and an 8 second cooldown instead of 10. Thanks Team 4!
Meanwhile, genji gets to cut his cooldown in half by doing a melee and he gets to keep his 250 HP. I love Overwatch!

Reaper’s new Perk is horrific and every content creator review (for what they’re worth) has agreed that it’s horrible and detrimental. Drawbacks on perks feel terrible as it is, but to do it for such a mediocre perk in the first place is ridiculous. At the very least they should revert the range nerf, but, better yet, give normal range back. I don’t know what Custa & Co. are smoking.

Well, they just love some Heroes more than others.
The new perks for some Heroes showing that, too.

Welcome to the world of hog mains. Not only is his rework a nerf, but the perk they gave him for his right-click is a nerf too - now any tank can stand between 5m and 12m away and be completely safe if they can block hook.

Custa just doesn’t like Reaper and it’s been obvious since the Community patch that he was apart of awhile ago.

It‘s one of the only perks that also give you a nerf by picking it.

After playing a bit now, I can say that perk is a**. Takes every flanking possibility away. That bit more speed at the begining brings nothing, compared to the range you lose.

I use it as my disengage tool to get out to fights and pair it with the lifesteal perk, so that I can use Wraith to continue the fight. Still not worth picking over orbs and long-range because the lifesteal perk is also worthless.

You mentioned genjis dash cooldown perk but let’s be fkn for real
Hp regen during deflect vs… an extremely minor and short winded life steak buff AFTER using your escape only
Genji stops your attack dead in its tracks and likely gets free damage after pressing the button + begins healing himself a strong amount and you CANT interrupt it because he’s deflecting + can cancel into his combo that does almost all of a standard hero’s health
How genjis say he takes any skill anymore is beyond me, they are so beyond boosted ever since perks and It’s disgusting.
Give reaper 40 HP regen during wraith and we will see how THEY like it, and he wouldn’t even be deflecting bullets back just invincible, literally still worse than what genji can currently do. And they’d cry.

Genji takes skill because he’s hard to play lol
Like, you can’t just pick Genji up and expect to carry, you can’t even just pick him up and expect to do decently. Quit kidding yourself.
I literally have done exactly that so you are so full of it. My friend is also bad at ow generally and he can play genji just fine, but he CANNOT play tracer, brig, illari, among others.
But he absolutely can play genji.
His words: “huh you just do the combo and they kinda die as long as you don’t mess up. I’m bad though so expect me to miss it a lot.”
But even if he just does it a few times it’s an easy support pick.
Genji has so many outs and none of the weaknesses a hero with free outs usually has (the singular weakness of beams wowee)
Genji has a positive win rate in all ranks in all platforms by the way. Objectively cannot say he “requires skill” has a skill ceiling? Sure. Maybe skill takes him far too. But he doesn’t require anything special to pick up other than “he works like this- use the combo, use your dash to chain kills when you can and if you can’t use it to get out instead, if I mess up deflect is my free survival tool, and all my perks are just massive buffs that trivialize enemy counterplay.”

A lot of the new perks this season are pretty bad, especially compared to what they replace.
This has been an erratic patch that feels poorly thought out and poorly tested.

I use it aggressively. I use my dash, burst a triple shuri to their head, and then melee. If that’s not enough to kill them, my dash will be back in a second, during which I’ll just deflect. Dash through them for the kill or dash away if they’ve been healed.
Plus, you can pair this with the deflect perk, which is what I do.
