Youāre wrong. They would be.
Armor piercing, done.
Do the calculations dudeā¦
Youāre applying a 10s ability to a heroās overall movement speed.
Donāt you preach about calculations.
No?
All these heroes move at 5.5 m/s.
The abilities make them faster, same as reaper.
But compare the cooldowns and how far they actually move, and the speed they move at.
hahahahahahahah
You say that but you just generalized Reaperās speed based on 2 abilites.
speed =/= overall mobility
I highly recommend everyone just ignore Sral94, dude provides no real arguments and after my second reply to him, feels like heās just being a massive troll.
Either the dudeās in lower ranks where Reaper is posing a problem to those without awareness or heās playing a complete different version of Overwatch where Reaper and Tracer switched places.
Thanks for the discussions everyone! Letās keep it going!
Reaper NEEDS to be buffed.
The problem with Reaper is that his design is made to make him be able to perform a role that is too complex to balance.
When you think about a character is made to tank bust you have to think about how most tanks are played: anchors tank that protect and/or create space for their entire teams, so, they are usually followed by their entire teams, that will try their best to protect their tanks also.
Making a character that is able to break through all this, kill the enemy that is the most difficult to bring down and come back alive will make said character overpowered without doubt.
But as he is now, he can only be a niche option against dive tanks(without flankers for some reason, since he sucks against them), or to kill a flank Hog, but this doesnāt exist anymore.
He should be reworked as a flanker or a disruptor using the edgy darkness or something.
So should we be looking at abilities or not?
If we donāt , he is as fast as all but 4 characters.
If you could make up your mind that would be nice.
You spelt chlamydia wrong.
if we keep this thread alive maybe one of the devs will see it and⦠probably ignore it
I agree, not to mention, I have a solution. And before the dickhead who first replied to this guy replies to me, remember that shield bash, storm arrow, booster packs for both Dva and Phara, and all of symmetra in genral are apparently a thing in overwatch.
Y not give reaper the wraith form he has in all the cinematic trailers? Compared to all the other abilities, I would say that this would be pretty fair for him. This new wraith form would allow him to freely fly around sort of for a small time, plus it would be a lot quieter and easier to control than shadowstep. It would last for about 5 seconds and he would be able to fly at a rate of 5-6 meters per second and intstead of running on a cool down, it runs on a resource bar, much like Dvaās defense matrix. If he needs to gain elevation for a death blossom or escape an unwinnable fight to prevent himself from feeding, this new ability will have u covered. And now u may be thinking, if reaper had this, what is the point of having the current version of wraith form? Well, Iām a way, this gives the current wraith form more use. With this new ability, he has all 3 phases of combat covered. Engagement, mid fight, and disengagement. The original wraith form, intstead of a piss poor excuse of an escape, is now a mid fight tool. BTW, I refer to the new ability as, well, new ability, because I donāt have a name for it. If anyone replies, please leave a suggestion for the name.
Anyway, Moving on from Shadowstep, Letās move onto the other problem, his ultimate. Now donāt get me wrong, itās ultimate could be of amazing use when used right. However, his ultimate is often easily disrupted before he can get a sufficient amount of kills. Not to mention, the damage distribution of Death blossoms Radius is Ludicrous. The closer into the radius you go, the less damage it does. But the Farther away from the center you are, the more damage you do. How in the heck is this logical? My solution, the damage distribution within The entire radius of the blossom should be completely equal. Maybe even a slight damage above of maybe 45 to 50 damage. Also, I believe in the speed of death possum should receive an increase as well. Maybe A 40% speed movement increase while using death blossom.
Now moving on from his abilities, reaper in general is naturally at a disadvantage compared to other characters because of two things. The first and biggest problem being the fact that he is way too loud just when he is moving. I recommend turning down the volume of every time he takes a step. Whenever I play reaper, I am a reaper main BTW, I always feel like I have to crouch whenever I am near the enemies back line. Because if I donāt, the enemy will hear me from about a mile away just because Iām walking. Therefore, I think his footsteps need to be quieter. Maybe not Zenyatta quiet, But significantly more quiet than they are now. The second problem with the reaper in general, excluding abilities, is his hit box. Honestly I think itās just stupid. Itās basically a door with two shotguns running at you. I honestly think that his hit box should be somewhat reduced.
There was a time when reaper was one of the best if not the best characters in the entire game, even without the Anna meta from season two. But now, he has the second lowest pick rate in the entire game compared to other heroes. This is the main antagonist of overwatch that we are talking about here. Not that Iām saying storyline role should determine strength and gameplay. Iām just saying that maybe there should be more to this character then his role in the story. I Think itās about time that reaper truly returns from the grave and makes us come back into the meta. This is what I believe and this is my solution. To all who read this please show your support and help reaper return to his former glory .
As long as you nerf his damage so that he falls around the same as the other hero with such high high mobility (sombra)
You are giving reaper 8 seconds of invincibility, with 5 seconds of flight.
All of it with increased movement speed.
You are giving his ult movement speed so that heroes canāt escape it.
You want him to make less noise than the other flankers.
You want to reduce his hitbox so that he takes less damage.
Remove armor from Overwatch. Solved.
Iāll accept my payment in the form of in-game coins.
Armor was added spesifically to stop reaper from being too strong.
Removing armor woudd also make brigitte useless, and would make dive a lot better.
This is because Brig was built around an inherently broken mechanic and the result of this design turned outā¦well, exactly as expected. Now Blizzard is desperately trying to patch over their mistake by giving Torb an armor-destroying ult while buffing McCreeās FTH so that it can kill an armored squishy. Expect to see more armor counters added next year.
But as long as they continue trying to counter the problem rather than fix it, Reaper will remain a throw pick. And after Blizzard adds a couple more armor counters to the game, the anti-armor meta will make Brig a throw pick, and everyone loses.
Just fix the actual problem for once, Blizzard. Pretty much every GM YouTuber has identified the problem for you across dozens of videos. Just fix it.
Can be in the game without being strong against health and barriers.
Something that would make said heroes bad against a team that runs normal heroes.
An anti armor meta is not likely, seeing as armor isnāt much of a problem currently.
If they āfixed the problemā , that would mean reaper would get a huge nerf.
