In every animated short and comic, he fails his missions.
Failed at stealing the Doomfist.
Failed at killing Volskaya.
Etc
Can he get a win every once in a while? It’s hard to take him seriously.

Imagine if at the release of Overwatch 2 they removed a protagonist hero and released lore that Reaper killed them.
That would actually be a great idea. Maybe Mei lol.
There seems to be a diliberate choice to eliminate nuance and keep the hero villian line as basic and explicit as possible.
I wonder… Reaper killed sum random soldiers in Volskaya and he is supposed to have killed some ex-Overwatch members. But what if these ex-Overwatch members were the ones who joined Talon (the ones mentioned by the one guy in the Baptiste short story) or were traitors beforehand?
What if Reyes also has a grudge against the people who lead to Overwatch’s downfall? What if he never intended to kill Winston or Jack?
Well… maybe he is, as you pointed out, just super bad at his job when it comes to killing off crucial named characters. Maybe he throws a tantrum and kills other, weaker people for fun and is still hurt about things which happened in OW… If thats the case, I do not like him
I wouldnt mind of reaper permanently killed of mei
He’s got the highest body count. That’s gotta count for something, right?
I dunno I think Talon had plenty of nuance. Reaper is the least nuanced. Doomfist is visionary evil, Moira is scientifically indifferent to morals and Talon facilitates that, Sigma is mentally disturbed and was incarcerated as a liability so Talon broke him out, Sombra isn’t evil but Talon allows her resources out of the scope of goodness, Widowmaker is brainwashed. In fact only Reaper and Doomfist seem to he evil for evils sake and even then Doomfist thinks it’s for the greater good.
And going by the OW2 clip, it appears that Maximilliam is not a fan of further supporting Talon either… I guess?
That’s a very interesting point. I’ve always seen Sombra as an opportunist who works with whoever to get what she wants.
One of the reasons why I like Doomfist. Thanos-esque
Bastion will always be my top favorite hero tho.
She was offered a position in Talon, and she took the opportunity since it’s a great like of work for her lol.
I disagree
I disagree
Is she tho?
I think the framing is, but initially…not so much.
And it’s tragic imo
I believe this was one of the things in the lore. It’s how she killed her husband lol.
To be honest I like it.
Same twist as in infinity wars.
Let the villain geta win that will effect the next fights in his favor or will give the lore some twist. maybe stealing something important or harming one of the heroes in a way that will effect the fights in his favor like breaking his legs or something…
Can be an amazing idea for an event or even better, for the lore of ow2.
Imo there was some nuance to widow that initially to me, made me question if she was brainwashed or trained
She visits his grave
She’s defensive about him
She is defensive without showing regret about what she did
But she does feel as stated by her interaction with tracer
They frame her and talk about her in 2d terms , but I never felt that through her actions
Well iirc, she was recovered by Overwatch and they attempted to get rid of the brainwashing but that clearly didn’t work, but might’ve had some affect to her brainwashing.
I think Widows husband is the leader of Talon and faked his death.
Again, that led me to question if she was ever brainwashed
If she feels sorrow, resentment , defensiveness…she’s aware
So if she’s aware and able to feel how she feels on her own accord… And taking her back didn’t do anything…maybe it was her choice to go in the first place.
But again, that’s me being confused with the actions of widow versus her narrative. They keep telling me she’s brainwashed and stuff.shes definitely evil to them. I just think that either wasnt the original intent or…
They write bad
He had to lose those fights otherwise Winston dies and you create a TIME PARADOX where OW never forms cause nobody sends out the call.
No Orisa happens as Nubani airport attack isn’t necessary for Doom getting the glove inspiring Efi to create an omnic to protect.
Volskaya not his fault, Sombra working against him if Reaper was on to her could also time paradox the lore.
Overall he won as he isn’t outlawed like his former ow teammates. The governments so far aren’t fully aware of how much influence Talon has. Even Symmetra doesn’t know one of the bosses in her company is on Talon’s payroll.
