Reaper - Healing more than Mercy

With some calculation, on the PTR Reaper is getting a massive healing output to himself. This is good news for all the Reaper players of course and those who want him to make a comeback with a bang.

Reaper deals 42-140 damage per shot 2.1-7 per pellet, depending on accuracy and distance. In recent buffs the accuracy has become much more reliable on his Hellfire Shotguns.

Hellfire shotguns have a fire rate of 2 shots per second.

Current healing
30%
Reaper is able to heal himself 30% of every damage dealt. Which means that his self healing is
Min : 12,60 hp/s
Max : 42,00 hp/s

If reaper lands two shots per second as his firerate then
42 hp/s x2 = 84 hp/s at the absolute max

PTR healing
On PTR, Reapers healing has amped up to 50% of every damage dealt. Which means his selfhealing is
Min : 21,00 hp/s
Max : 70,00 hp/s

If reaper lands 2 shots per second as his firerate then
70 hp/s x2 = 140 health per second at the absolute max.

Healers

Mercy :
Healing - 50 hp/s (consistent)
Self healing - 20hp/s after 1/s of no damage taken
Valkyrie - 60 hp/s for 15 seconds

That falls 10hp short of Reapers self healing capabilities.

Ana:
Healing - 75hp per shot.
Fire rate of 1,25 shots per second.
-> 93,75 hp/s

Biotic nade
100 hp per nade every 10 seconds.
+50% from other sources
-> 112,50 hp/per shot
= 140,63 hp/s + 100hp (from nade itself)
Nano 300 hp/per use 0,15 castime.

Moira :
Healing - 80 hp/s
50hp/s for 3 seconds from casted.
90 hp energy storage

Regaining at a speed of 2.4 hp/s, or
10 hp/s if using her secondary fire
30 hp/s self healing

Biotic Orb
300 hp/4 seconds -> 75 hp/s

Coalescence
140 hp/s for 8 seconds
50 hp/s self healing.

Zenyatta :
Healing - 30 hp/s

Transcendence
300 hp/s for 6 secodns
10 meter radius.

Lucio :
Healing - 16,1 hp/s allies
12 meter radius
12,3 hp/s self healing

Amp it up
48,3 hp/s allies
40,3 hp/s self healing
3 second duration, cooldown 12 seconds.

Sound barrier
750 personal shield - 30 meter radius
duration 6 seconds.

Brigitte :
Healing
Inspire - 16,67 hp/s 20 meter radius

Repair pack - 150 hp / 6 seconds (max. 75 armor)

Rally - 15 armor per 0,5 seconds
100 armor max
-> With the new PTR changes, the uptime will be changed.

These numbers assume that Reaper is landing every pellet on health (not armor) and within his damage falloff. Mercy doesn’t need to aim her healing and it is not dependent on enemies being point-blank.

Being able to give something to a teammate always has more of a power budget than doing something exclusively for yourself.

Yes, that is why there is a difference between the numbers at minimum and max capacity of dealing damage. Just as with Ana’s healing the assumption of landing every shot. It’s merely a comparison of his self sustain versus the support roster. Not taking sides one way or the other : )

Reaper confirmed best healer of January 2019

Using maximum theoretical values is a very slippery slope, since they pretty much never realistically happen.

In a realistic setting, Mercy will still heal much more than Reaper. He would need to get a near 1000% increase in self heal in order to compete with her consistency.

As an old Reaper main I have mixed emotions. I think this is the wrong buff but it makes me happy to see buffs for him in general… we’ll have to see how this works out.
