Reaper feels like a better leader instead of Doomfist

In my opinion, Reaper feels like such a better powerful leader then Doomfist. He would fit the high inner council role far more better then Doomfist would. And since he already has experience with leadership, its better for Reaper to be the highest inner council of Talon. Just my thoughts lol

I respectfully disagree - Doomfist is a charismatic, highly intelligent man who has large experience running a business (kind of what Talon is, in a way) from his family’s cybernetics company. He also has a stronger sense of… purpose? vision? he has a whole philosophy about strengthening humanity through conflict that he seems to believe in with every fiber in his body.

Gabriel Reyes, in my opinion, is too impulsive and acts way too much out of revenge and emotions then Doomfist, who is more calculated to me. Look how well that went for Blackwatch… Reyes seems far less subscribed to Talon’s ideals, as well, he might even possibly be a double agent (but I honestly doubt that, he’s murdered Overwatch agents in the past so that ship might have sailed)

Reaper just acts like an edgy guy. Doomfist is both wellspoken and has clear goals while being cool at the same time. Reaper feels more like a task force leader imo.

Reaper is mister officer for standard army as in Recall.

Than* 20 characters or less

Could not have said it better myself. So far, Doomfist is really the only Talon member that even seems to care about its vision aside from Widowmaker, who’s just a brainwashed lackey. Without him, the whole thing would fall apart.

Doomfist hold all Talon in doom fist then. Hehe.

I have to strongly disagree. I think that’s intentional misdirection and obfuscation on his part.

He’s an extremely shrewd, competent leader who is smart enough to toe the line between being savage and competent enough to justify his persona’s reputation and staying distant enough that he can see the whole picture.

I strongly suspect that he found something out about Overwatch’s corruption and then made a conscious decision to go rogue to expose their shadiness and disrupt their timeline rather than waiting to be played like a fiddle and then discarded as a scapegoat. Until he shot Antonio in the face and made the loudest exit ever, the world had no idea that Blackwatch even existed. That would not be possible with someone impulsive at the helm. He never would have been placed in any kind of command, because that kind of impulsivity gets people killed. If anything, I’d say Jack was and is more impulsive than he was and is.

Reinhardt is impulsive. Junkrat is impulsive. Gabe is deliberate. He’s plotting and scheming and investigating and working to dismantle the organisation at the middle of Sombra’s web because they destroyed his family, the whole time making it appear to be a one edgelord revenge tour against Overwatch.

Gabe is better at the long game than anyone else in the franchise.

Aside from killing Antonio, everything Reyes does is carefully planned out. Even as Reaper, there are voice lines indicating that he makes plans and hates to deviate from them (this meticulousness was probably reinforced by his one unscripted action having such devastating consequences):

Reaper: Everything’s going according to plan, keep up the defense.

Reaper: Try to stick to the plan, Sombra.
Sombra: Look, someone has to be ready when all your careful planning doesn’t pan out.

I don’t even think that can count as an impulse. He took a good few moments to think it over. It was a quick decision, but decision nonetheless. Not an impulse, he probably knew what he was doing and what that will cause.

It wasn’t what he planned to do when he walked in the room - McCree suggests it in the comic, but Reyes talks him down. Yes he thinks about it while Antonio is talking, but for someone who makes detailed plans and follows them through, that is pretty impulsive.

Doomfist is the most mentally stable and trustworthy member of Talon.

Part of me would like to think that Reaper and Moira joined Talon to take it down from the inside after Overwatch disbanded

For Reyes maybe - it’s a common theory.

But Moira most likely joined Talon to take Overwatch down - because as she said “Overwatch held back the pace of scientific discovery for a decades” and “They tried to silence me.”

If she didn’t join Overwatch to take it down. Another common theory is that she was a mole for Talon when working in Overwatch. Simply because she was offered a good deal.

Well, I’m a firm beliver of that theory ^^ Overwatch cannot hold back scientific discovery if it doesn’t exist anymore, and she is getting revenge for shutting down her research.

Two birds with one stone (is that a correct idiom that I used? not sure about that one ^^)

Well the devs have said that Moira and Reyes are very close friends, so I don’t know what I should believe about that.

Also Reyes when he was with Sombra is going to visit a “very old friend” in Oasis, and it was confirmed that it was Moira he was going to visit.

Reyes was pressumed dead and I assume she would have attended his funeral etc, and took a position she was offered as the minister of genetics.

Reyes took a long time to recover after the explosion, but once he was well he joined Talon then later used them to find Moira and bring her to them.

I think there is a lot more to this story than we know, and I think her being in Talon was more of a rumor than anything when she was in Blackwatch, you can tell she really cares about Gabriel, she stands by anything he says/does. I really hope she hasn’t betrayed him considering the DEVs claim they are very good friends… I think both of them planned something together.

Also it’s been said that Moira isn’t evil too, so we can rule that out.

I don’t want this part of the lore to be true because it’s too predictible and boring, but we’ll see. I was hoping they did something more exciting, while we’re all presuming Moira is the bad one, it turns out to be someone else.

Moira and Reyes have a pretty big story which I’m hoping will be told in OW2. IF not I hope they get a book like Numbani, Reaper honestly has some the best lore in this game and I’m so happy that Moira gets to share a huge part of that with him.

The consensus seems to be that Moira is the True Neutral character that holds no allegiance to any organization and only cares about her personal projects. Reyes appears to be her personal project in a way. She clearly did some unconsensual things to him, or at the very least, he didn’t expect the results to be what they are.

I don’t think she’s malicious and I don’t think she wishes direct harm to anyone. She just… sees people as test subjects and study material. She will betray Talon if it’s convenient to her. The same way she (presumably) betrayed Overwatch because Talon offered her a better option.

Pannel transcript from Blizzcon 2017 :

Michael : We obviously… there is a close relationship between Moira and the Reyes/Reaper, and I think one of the fun things we were able to do is to sort of hint at some of those things in her ability.

Geoff : It’s like she is helping Reaper: “ You know, I think I can make this better, I have an idea .”

Michael : Professional relationship… yes.

Close relationship and professional relationship - that’s how they called their relationship.

Like Mechavomit, I have the feeling that Reaper/Reyes is kinda her personnal project - trying to figure out his special genetics due to the SEP - his special condition - their similarities with Wrath/Fade abilities that they both have , the damages done to heal themselves… so yeah there is still some untold story there.

If Moira is the only one he can trust with his condition, he better be in her good grace.

I know she isn’t trully evil, she only care about science, but her voicelines suggest that she doesn’t like people getting in her way and in the way of scientific discoveries - and it not say that she doesn’t hold grudges. And she probably didn’t like being held back by Overwatch and having her reputation damaged.

Which is another weird thing. Why couldn’t he trust his closest friends? Why didn’t they know? Surely Ana and Jack would help him. So why didn’t he tell them.
