Life steal increased from 30% to 50% of damage dealt
Developer Comments:Reaper’s passive is one of the main tools he has which allow him to play aggressively when near his enemies. This change allows him to keep the pressure up as long as he can stay near his enemies enough to keep dealing damage. This change is particularly effective versus tanks, as they tend to do less damage than damage heroes, and also take more damage from his Hellfire Shotguns due to their larger hit volumes.
I dont know about you guys but my opinion about this is the classic “… ok, thats nice” sarcastic remark.
No, for real, can we (developers, yeah you) stop beating around the bush and rework Shadow “omegalul” Step once for all ?
Please no casting time adjustment or just “attempts” of making it usable. Its the WORST skill in game by far and it is on one of the Z tier heroes.
I know, i know … its featured on cinematics and looks super edgy, i give you that but … we cant live and survive on style inside overwatch, we need a visual version of Moira’s fade.
Suggestions :
Improve the targetting + make it a shadow + double the range + allow 1 sec to materialize with or without sound queue and let reaper take 50% less damage while doing it. No casting time, you are already doing nothing while trying to pick the right spot, that should be enough.
Hum i forgot about the ult indeed. Maybe not a rework because its cool as it is but … should it be a true AoE ult like roadhog ?
The lifesteal should allow him to live more but the overall damage is still low. A range increase with damage fall off should be cool too.
The main problem vs goats is the Shield. Reaper has to break through it to get life steal. As far as i know you only get HP back with hero damage, not shields.
The armour nerf also benefits him but … his biggest problem is shadow step and the damage drop off. His pellets do 2-7 damage instead of 4-8, that could be a great buff.
If you think Reaper wont be dominating everything below diamond, then you are the clueless one.
Expect nerfs to Reaper soon after the buffs are released, because its gonna be one hell of a ride.
2 of the factors that held him back are gone (D.va and armor effectiveness) + he got a massive lifesteal buff at the same time, he is going to be broken.
All Reaper’s ULT needs now is for it to have a pull in effect like a tornado.
Slightly pulling in enemies in the area towards him while he is spinning.
They are not going to give him mobility to tele near enemy melee range, shadow step work so if reaper tried to teleport next to the enemy he will get melted, there is no other way to buff it without making it op.
You are around 110% wrong mate and yeah, what happens below diamond is something i know from first hand so no, it wont be OP because he doesnt do more damage.
Armor was never the issue with Reaper’s fire rate. This change will absolutely not affect his pickrate.
Please get your facts straight : He is Z-Tier, this change wont even make him C- Tier. There are at least 2 heroes that can OUTCLASS him at anything he does.
I think you guys need to check who are you talking about.
He already has mobility and it is a design decision. He is a close quarter’s character so he NEEDS to be able to close the gap effectively, right now he cant.
Nobody is asking to give Reaper blink or swift strike, ok? Are we clear now?
We are asking to rework Shadow Step so its not the WORST ingame skill and actually works as a teleport.
If you make it visible, the sound queue would be pointless, since you can actually SEE reaper in “smoke” form going from A → B. We are open to suggestions, basically saying “NO” with a different wording means nothing.
Feel free to discuss the potential impact of the PTR changes (which would be close to none).
Exactly! This change to life steal isn’t gonna make him any better AT ALL because of all his other crippling weaknesses. Why are the devs so oblivious about that? It’s unreal…
