Reaper and armor patch

reaper is really weak hero, and even weaker hero after armor patch. reaper buff is need.

don’t say about rework. balance patch first then rework. you dev ruined hog for two year before rework. do not abandon him before rework.

You know what the worst part is? That the “rework” would probably be the easiest ever in Overwatch’s history:

  • Make his shotguns do more damage per pellet, with less pellets (less spread)
  • Make the TP “kind of” like Fade from Moira
  • Give him a decent RMB to create a smoke zone for example

Done. Reaper doesn’t suck, viable and is not an insane threat for Tanks.

He is a dps who isn’t soldier, sojourn, cass, widow or tracer. Why would the devs care about him being playable?

Very few people look forward to playing against a viable reaper due to his life steal I guess. I’m not even kidding when I say that I’ve seen a reaper player rage out at being diffed by another reaper player. He was not raging while getting mercilessly domed by widow just 3 minutes before.

I don’t think they can rework reaper and keep the masses happy without removing life steal. The moment he is good the outrage is biblical and down he goes again.

He makes up for it in High dps. No rework needed.

He is so onedimensional and his abilities are bad. High dps does nothing for him.

Skill Issue sounds like.

Then tell me why basically no one plays him? If the dps is so high and good he should be all over top 500.

The hero is so dated, but Blizz is so slow in fixing this.

Would love if he had a tightened spread like OW1.

He doesn’t DPS when DVA’s matrix cover the whole map and last 10 years.

I really hope they drop infos about his rework after this, man…

Boring and there are just better options now days. He’s still a tank buster or a good flanker for taking out supports.

I see him all the time in arcade

Love all these ideas. Here’s another to help him be more viable in duels that aren’t against tanks.

Make his passive scale with the number of health an opponent has. The lower the health, the more health refunded per shot. So going against a 150 HP Genji and being refunded like 70% is more rewarding than going against a 350 HP Ball and being refunded 25%.

Also, the smoke grenades also have hidden benefits like making TP more viable as an engage/disengage tool. Maybe even add an option to outline enemies within the smoke or at the very least, low health ones (like Sombra’s old passive which was meant for Reaper anyway).

The validity of your statement disappearing in one sentence.

Outdated hero from a different game. He makes no sense in 5v5. He needs a complete rework into a dueler-flanker type of character with like mutch tighter spread on his shotguns but way less damage against the tank. He was designed as the anti-tank mf for ow1 that had 2 or 3 tank players in one team. Now he only counters Hog.

Not against it but I guess if the spread is tighten that would have to happen.
Right now since Tanks are huge, it kind of does, since all your pellets hit, unlike when you shoot a Tracer for example.

Reaper doesn’t have issues vs Tanks though, but who knows.

I feel like Reaper needs an ability that sorta heat seeks and targets players through walls and when he attacks that target he gets hp back call it Predatory Instinct or something. It could also show the team too who your focused on like discord

High DPS? His damage was decreased from 140 per shot to 120 and then to 110. They haven’t reverted the damage OR spread nerfs. Meanwhile, Tracer is objectively better than she was in every way than she was in OW1, including with her damage.

If that’s not favoritism I don’t know what is.

He was already struggling b4 the patch, now hes dead in the water i think, as some have said here, they really should at least push out a small buff if his rework is not coming in S11, i think at the very least; they ought to halve Shadow Step’s cooldown (or give it 2 charges) and up his damage per pellet from 5.4 to 6 then, at least he wouldn’t be a throw pick in comparison.

Funny thing is he was already bad in 6v6, even on the most tank oriented meta, he was bad, double shield? also bad.

Honestly I think Reaper’s biggest problem is safely closing the distance. Most other flankers can play at ranges that are still close, but without being within colonoscopy range, but Reaper needs to be hugging the enemy to deal any meaningful damage. Kind of a spitballing suggestion that probably has loads of issues, but what if Wraith was shorter, but had a faster movement, and maybe two charges? Or possibly even put it on a resource meter with a few seconds of cooldown between uses. They might need to tone his damage down to compensate since invincibly waltzing up to someone and dealing huge burst might be a bit much, but I’d rather slightly weaker but far more consistent damage to “If the enemy decides to play at range, what are you really gonna do?”.
