I’m deranking on every role on all my accounts hard. In quick play I have been having 10 game loss steaks on all roles 3 days in a row, and I’m playing with golds and plats now and am still losing
idk whats going on, how have i randomly become significantly worse at the game? I dont feel like I’m playing any differently. Has everyone suddenly got much better in the past 2 weeks?
My winrate is like 30% or something atm in comp and probably even lower in quick play
thats a really significant drop across a couple dozen games
most games i’m still playing against 2 masters supports on enemy team in quick play which is my rank on an alt and im dia on main
but I’m losing like 80% of my games. WHy am I not being put with golds yet I’m so tired and sad of losing over and over. I’m tired of being smack talked for being bad I’m tired of not being good enough please let me derank I’m sick of playing against people who are drastically better than me
am i supposed to just smurf like everyone else or what? this is so lame
It’s the start of the new season and you still have a while left of the season so you should prob q in the morning/ early afternoon and take a break after every loss bc that’s what i do and it works for me not to be as upset if i go on a loss streak and you always have time to rank back up,
Unless you want to wait 12 or more minutes for a single game then I wouldn’t feel bad about deranking at all.
fr
. I was in q for a high gm open q game and i was in a 16 min q and decided not to keep waiting
There are several factors compounding things.
For one, many people in QP who peaked masters are not playing their characters or roles they got to master with. I frequently see someone who is say a master tank, but is playing support and their highest rank in support was like plat 2 or diamond 5. A full 500-1000 points lower than their main role. Though most have private profiles which obscures what’s really going on.
The other bit is sometimes players are actually just boosted higher than they often should be. It is more prevalent on some than others. You might be able to compete on a higher level, but can you consistently make a contribution to carry bad teams? Getting out of low ranks on Mercy is very hard for example by comparison just picking almost any other uspport.
I was playing Competitive Mystery Heroes yesterday, and I swear, I had a controller player on my team. They hit like 5 shots all game and died 14 times. I have no idea how they get into a master rank game, even on Mystery Heroes.
Do you play or group with other people? I duo a lot, and recently have noticed I’m going against a lot of 5 stacks, who’re clearly on VC organising picks.
The MM system seems to be getting worse and worse. When I play on my own in comp, it’s pretty even, but as soon as I group up, it’s a literal farm fest.
This does not sound like a ‘you’ issue, not to the degree you have described.
Not only is the matchmaker god-awful, we also have a host of new players joining after the steam release. Everything is up in the air right now and I have no idea how the dust will settle.
You’re getting ‘cannon fodder’ games, where you are being fed to the proverbial wolves. Everyone in those games will be feeling upset and down about it, so it increases the likelihood of being flamed and smack-talked.
What days/times of day do you usually play? That might be having an effect. Afternoons, known holidays, and weekends are notoriously bad because that’s when all the kids are off school.
Also, might it be an idea to turn off chat for the time being? If you are in lower elos now, chat is just a useless cesspit of other peoples dreadful takes and insults. Cutting that out will allow you to focus more on the most important part of your experience: your own gameplay.
There must be something about your gameplay, however, that has sparked the matchmaker into thinking you belong in those games. That is to say: you must be doing something right to be there.
Do not be harsh on yourself. You’re having a bad time of it now, but remember you are only one of ten people in a lobby. We all have to mind our own business in these games, but understanding that not everything is your fault either is a big part of it.
And remember, if it gets so bad you stop having fun, you have the option to walk away entirely. Your happiness does not hinge on this bunch of pixels.
