As things are right now they have 17 to choose from and only 5 or 6 get played regularly. And if someone picks a hero that can completely ignore those heroes sucks to be on the opposing team because most DPS players NEVER swap to counter pick. Such a shame that they get the lions share when most of their players don’t even appreciate how varied their roster of heroes is.
I hope there’s plenty of every role. Generalizing an entire population of players from their role selection and then hoping they dont get little to nothing in the sequel is extremely shallow.
I think people focus more on the number of heroes, not the number of worthwhile+viable heroes.
Tank balance really isn’t easy.
Yea don’t really care if its shallow, I’m expected to eat my food no matter what it is with just a spoon, they get a full assortment of silverware and constantly choose to just use the knife.
Are you talking about open queue or something? Assuming we’re trying to use the analogy of forks, spoons, and knives for the three roles in the game.
In open queue nobody has the requirement of choosing spoon just because you dont like knives. If we’re talking role queue everyone has a complete set of silverware and your complaint is akin to saying that spoons have too many spoons to choose from.
I don’t care what they add unless its like, a Lucio for every role, that’d be cool.
Or just add heroes who are fun regardless of role.
But if there was more overlap, there’d be more options and more ways to balance it?
Why does every tank need to be unique?
I think they will add the same amount from every role…
…and that Sojourn will be a healer.
Spoilers, Sojourn is a DPS
What if they come out with 10 heroes and 2 are dps
dude let’s be real. they’re gonna release new dps heroes and they’re going to be severely unbalanced. these new heroes are going to shoot up and have the highest pickrates and we will see them in every game for quite some time before the dev team nerfs them to hot garbage.
i mean we see it over and over again. if you’re expecting anything more then it’s your own fault getting your hopes up
3 new heroes possibly 2 support, 1 tank and Soujourn is the 4th and it’s confirmed that she will be dps. Idk if AFTER OW2 release they are going to make heroes faster though. But release going to be 4 new heroes
OW 2 will bring … 2 DPS, 2 Supports, 2 Tanks
Can you imagine?
Sojourn: Pulse rifle like soldier 76. Will probably have a call of duty slide ability from what I saw in her highlight intro in the gameplay trailer, and has a hand that turns into some sort of cannon.
Healer??? I think not.
Y’all don’t know how to have fun. Its about making stuff more overpowered, not nerfing stuff. Nerfed stuff is not fun, overpowered will always be in at least one way.
I think originally they said 5 new heroes, I am more excited for the new gamemode ‘push’ personally. I think there is still a lot of balancing that can be done before ow2 in order to highlight the potential issues that bringing 5 new heroes at the same time is likely to bring to anyone interested in competitive. if you think about the release state of many of the heroes they have required tweaking before being balanced. I am hoping that they will have a beta a few months before general release to iron out some of the major balance issues. not that unbalanced heroes arent fun just that if they want to maintain a community they need to carry on with their current cycle of pushing certain heroes for different seasons or balancing differently for different seasons.
On one hand, I think adding heroes from every role would be good, but on the other hand, this is one of the only realistic chances they’ll have to actually unify the roles.
Here is my guess:
2 Damage
4 Tanks
4 Supports
Echo, flying hero constantly described as peaceful and the most important thing for Overwatch to bring peace. Was literally built by a scientist to bring union between Omics and Humans.
DPS? I think not.
Design and backstory literally do not matter if the devs have a cool ability they can’t put on any other hero. They will literally go against their own lore to put an ability in the game.
