Re: Hero Pools - restrictions on player choice have gotten out of control

More frequent tweaks to under performing heroes is how we got immortal 50% lifesteal reaper nad multifreeze mei. Buffing weak chars only creates more problems down the line.

It’s despicable. How can they not see that forced handcuffs and additional lockdown controls make the game less fun, open, and creative. Half the dev team needs to be laid off. There is a huge lineup of people who will do the job better, for free.

And enough with these silly bait-and-juke ptr make-work projects. That’s honestly what it seems like right now. Desperation touchups to keep themselves relevant and employed. Bandaid responses to keep the loudest community members (including content creators and streamers) appeased. A constant save-face exercize to keep investors reassured the OWL isn’t going to be expiring to the shadowrealm.

I don’t play Comp, but I will like to say this. Hero Pool is far better than Hero Ban, since Hero Pool is less bias, and that ban will not constantly be the same, just to spite the one-trick.

They can always make hero pool change daily, and if your favourite hero is ban, you can just play in QP temporarily until the Hero Pool has your hero back again since Hero Pool system is not implemented in QP. This is what I see happen honestly, rather than weekly hero pool.

Also, Hero Pool can actually benefit OTP if their hero aren’t ban and their direct counter are ban.

It will increase OWL viewership (they hope.) They have much more money sunk into OWL than they do Overwatch at this point. The health of OWL viewership is much more important to Activision than the health of Overwatch.

I was tempted to write “more frequent (minor) tweaks” but even so, those changes were made as misguided attempts to try and counter an entire comp (GOATS)…and the “more frequent” part would have taken care of reverting both those changes in short order.

I’m talking about changes like “turns out this Sigma shield we introduced last week is crazy OP, let’s dial it down a bit” rather than 6 months of double shield and the stalest gameplay ever seen.

What you said was too reasonable and not lined with enough hate and bias. Go away. We disregard reason and stick to our narrative here sir.

lmao, thanks for the laugh, appreciate the humour.

We should all move to quickplay so they can see people stopped playing comp and maybe they figure out restricting ladder playerbase because of twitch- I mean, youtube gaming views (omegalul), isn’t going to make competitive a better experience but do the opposite.

But then they would probably dump hero pools on qp too and it would truly be the end of overwatch.

Yeah more frequent changes are a must for this game. That’s what im most hype about from the dev update and theyve been updating /changing the game more in the past two months than they have in 8 months so its a good sign.

I suspected this as well. But it’s clearly a huge sunk-cost fallacy on their part. The non-OWL players deserve some compensation. Maybe a ranked QPC ?

Having 1 Tank 1 Healer & 2 Dps banned per week is not going to ruin the game stop fearmongering.

No NO nO it should not be a place to improve, and hone new tactics it should be the place to have were you come in at the best of your performance and compare your skill to the thousands of other players.

If your still in the experimental phase then you should be looking at some other game modes my friend.

Even then the Any composistion part is what nearly killed OW as you know a game meant to be played with a team simiar to that Of a RPG party was definitly not meant to have the vast majority of its rank games be 5 dps yelling at the guy that loaded last to play a support because they don’t know how to M1 and W.

I really don’t care about your personal low-level conception of what competitive is. The reality for most players, particularly among the high ranks, is that it’s a place to improve.

That was kinda weirdchamp bro…

BUT… it’s only one week then you can play your character again. So I would say that the word “wholesale” is not accurate.

The amount of REE-ing in this thread is just… just something to behold. Kisser, take some breaths before you have a stroke.

You can feel how mad he is at blizz/OW like literally no matter what they said today he would have came here to complain about it.

All hero pools shows is that this game is beyond repair.

The devs are unable to actually balance the game itself so they force restrictions on everyone to help overcome their inability to balance this game.

I for one am glad that OWL is going down the drain, they tried to sprint before they even learned to crawl with this game.

I mean you do you it’s just that I can’t tell you how many people would use rank as their chance to try a new hero out of the blue. Be it that It’s kinda obvious when you playing anywhere from plat to diamond and the rien that insisted for him has their hand glued to the “S” key the the moment damage start flying their way.

Be it that It’s abit elitist of you to just proclaim low-level conception just because thats how you look at it. Even still its the second half of my post that really has meat and potatoes of what I was trying to get across.

But you haven’t even tried them in this game yet, so how can you say that?
