I have always primarily used the hold down to shoot method on heros like Sigma, Mcree, Junkrat and heros like that when i am going for successive fire. I use the tap method when im not going for successive fire btw. But i watched my brother play Sigma the other day and he literally is just non stop clicking the entire time and it was weird to see. How do most people play? Cause it seems weird to me.
I click every shot on Mcree / Sigma. Widow was my first main so I guess I just kept the same mindset?
I’ve only played junk like 20 time in 2+ years but I think I just hold for him.
Oh okay. So if your playing Sigma do you click multiple times between shots or just the once? I watched Emongg playing Sigma earlier and he was clicking like 10 times between shots to. Am i the abnormal one here? Haha
Depends on what I am doing. If I’m shooting into a barrier I will hold the button down but if I’m lining up a shot I will click so the shots only come out when I expect them to.
Yeah. Obviously if i dont want my shots to continue i let go of click. Its situational for me as well. But i can still hold down while i line the shot up as well.
Clicking and planning out your individual shots will always be more precise than holding the button down. Even people with amazing reaction time would not be able to accurately adjust their cursor to react to every enemies movement in the game.
You only hold down if you want to spam a barrier or it’s an umissable target.
Clicking non stop is a good way to break a mouse (well considering the mouse I bought was made of cheap plastic, and the area I was putting pressure on was not properly supported I actually broke a piece off the left mouse button), though I think it’s up to player preference + how the hero plays too (I only did this when I was full on hanzo main which I’m not now :D)
Yo, you arent kidding. I told my bro hes gonna have to replace his mouse after 1 game haha
I personally do a mix of both. Depending on the character. For Soldier, I try and do 4-5 shot bursts. McCree I hold, Mei I hold. Pharah I click each time. Hog do both, depending on what I’m looking at. Hold for tanks, click for smaller.
Modern mice last millions of clicks I’d be more worried about your fingers because you aren’t taking a break more than cheap hardware.
Most decent mice are literally rated for millions of clicks(20-50 million+). It’s not the clicks it was as you said the mouse or you putting it through something that the average person wouldn’t do.
Eh depends on the mouse, I’ve had a R.A.T 7 for 10+ years, only now did I have to replace it (I assigned middle click to left mouse click while playing Guild Wars 2 what a bad idea that was lol) but the Left Mouse button still works like a charm!
I ended up buying a Corsair Glaive RGB or w/e and it crapped out on me within about 10-15 days of playing (It didn’t fully break off it was cracked, that ended up getting worse over time) and it urked me so bad since I could feel the crack, I had it replaced and same thing so I’m never buying another one of those mice (luckily my brother bought me a R.A.T 8+ for my birthday :D)
Yeah but a million clicks goes faster if your spamming your mouse haha
It’s not a million, it’s several million. Years will have passed by the time most people reach that number.
It was how the mouse left click was designed, I compared it to the R.A.T 7’s left mouse, and the Glaive had nothing for the left click to rest on, where as the R.A.T 7 had a piece of I assume aluminum to rest on, pretty sure that made all the difference since having a R.A.T 7 for 10 years and playing a hanzo main for a good amount of years without changing how I play when I got the new mouse wouldn’t have been an issue. Hell I even played less now since I went from working at an office to working at home (you’d think I’d work more at home but I ended up maybe playing an average of 2-3 hours a week instead of probably everyday).
I know it would take awhile. My “youll have to replace after 1 game” was a joke
I just click once every time I want the shot to go off - any more than that would murder my wrists.
Yeah it would seem so haha.
