Countless voicelines, interactions, and pages will have to be changed whereas that time could better be spent on OW2 rather than going for woke points.

Just make it Joel Mccree and move on. Get rid of the jesse, and change the references to “Mad Dog Mccree”, which McCree already shares the same clothing with.

The answer to that is yes. This is clearly a mistake made by desperate people and they will regret it. Most people will keep calling him McCree.

I’d imagine from the perspective of someone who works at the company disassociating the character from the scumbag is very hard. Especially when you know that the culture he represented lead to someone committing suicide and the likelihood of having coworkers who were/are affected by it. Just a thought.
