I don’t know how to explain this correctly (and please forgive me, English is not my first language) but I will try my best.
I believe the ranking for support is absolutely unfair and it is becoming difficult to rank up. When I got my first placement, I was silver 3. I was happy because I had never enjoyed any other game or played as often as Overwatch 2 and I thought it was pretty good for a new player. However, I played 3 more games and ranked down to bronze 4. I was confused because I did not get any notification, I just logged in the next day and I was bronze.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not the best player in the world by any means but I do get at least 10k healing every match and constantly out-heal both my teammates and enemies. My assists are always between 20-25 per match which I don’t think is half bad. If I am better than my counterparts, why am I not ranking up? It does feel like your individual performance is not taken into account.
I admit I lose a lot, but I am constantly endorsed every match and my numbers are positive. What am I doing wrong?
I am not looking for any magic solution, but maybe advice as to what I might be doing wrong. I really think I might be slightly better like my original placement was. What do you all think?

You rank up by winning.
If you want to see how you compare to others then unprivate your profile, play some games and then head over to overbuff where you can see how your stats compare to others at your rank.
I’d also recommend watching ML7 on twitch/youtube. His positioning is so good. Note how he is always on an off angle and beside cover whilst still covering his team.
I remember it took a really long time to get out of bronze as a support back in OW1. Part of that was due to skill-issue, but a good portion of that was due to lack of players in my region (OCE; Australia) leading to bronze being infested with smurfs. Which in return raised the matchmaker’s expection of how well you should perform in order to get a win. To put it simply, bronze was no longer bronze due to lack of player pool.
These days, I find it pretty easy to rank up to gold on support. But again, I’m not 100% sure if that’s the matchmaker giving me easy games because gold is where it think I “belong” now, or I’ve just become better at the game. I’d need to create a new account and smurf as a gold player in bronze to see how long it takes me to climb back up.
Also, with the way the competitive system works now, your rank is mostly meaningless now. Remember that with the way the new matchmaker works now, your invisible skill-rating (MMR) adjust to your skill level much earlier than your visible skill-rating (SR).
Just ask your teammates/enemies what rank they are, and if you’re constantly in higher elo lobby, your MMR is most likely higher than your actual rank.
The first time I played comp I really focused on healing and I went from the rough equivalent of silver 2 down to bronze 1, which really frustrated me like yourself. But there’s more you need to be doing to have an impact on the match. In my case it was damage, I went for kills (and heals) and by the next season I was gold; now I’m masters in OCE.
What heroes are you playing? What’s your deaths per 10? Also make you’re not playing after 2-3 losses, trust me youre not at your best.
