I feel ranked needs a system for performance where you gain points on a loss for how you performed in the match.
Bc the amount of times i get in lobbies with people throwing bc there main got banned or someone made a team comment on what needs to be changed
I’m slowly losing it and I’m sure some others are as well when you are in a match doing everything you can either as tank making space doing yo thing or on dps taking out the backline or support making sure everyone is up and healthy there is always someone who isn’t performing good and don’t seem to be in the rank the game says they are in i swear i be getting bronze players in diamond lobbies
Let me know the thoughts on this as i know I’m not the best player in the world nor do i wanna be requires to much brain power XD but i feel a system here could help the one’s who show promise in higher ranks and not being stuck in ELO HELL Thanks for joining the ted talk
They already did in the past and it didn’t go well, because it generated a rank inflation. The actual competitive system is still a controversy, because those modifiers like “winning trend” and “expected” are just numbers and not the real performance of the player, which is how you play the game and not how much damage, kills or heal you do.
Although, the comp system can improve, which it seems devs fear to touch the system again for the moment.
There is no way to actual verify if those big numbers represent a good performance or just doing kills/damage/heal instead of actual good plays that could lead to a win.
Just play the game as a game, because wins and defeats you will have ALWAYS. Same with trolls and throwers.
I stopped caring of my rank and more of me as a player, which is to play my main heroes properly to have a good time and enjoy their potential.
The only main thing I find that we’re missing is the recruitment system, which the game lacks and it’s a MUST for a team game.
Your win rate generally mirrors your competence at playing your hero picks. There is noise in the system - ragequitters, throwers, smurfs, people playing after smoking their entire supply, etc. But that’s a constant for the entire system, not just you.
You’re not in “ELO HELL,” you’re in low diamond, because that’s where your play ability is. Come to grips with that, and improve on your play.
What is the metric then? I won 4v5 games. So the imaginary, non existent player played pretty well in that game, right? Winning or losing matters only in statistical sense. There are a lot of players that are capable of playing well beyond their rank but they lack consistency.
You can definitely judge your performance when you win or lose. Matchmaking is a system that owes you nothing. The problem is this: it is a very flawed system and I just don’t understand defending it to the grave.
I am pretty sure in the future we will look back and laugh at how bad it was. Everything can be improved, even matchmaking.
When they learn to be more consistent, they’ll climb.
I’m not defending it. I honestly don’t think it’s good or bad. Just mid. Does it’s job, doesn’t have any real impact on me.
I know if I play badly I’ll likely lose, if I play well I have a much better chance of winning. If I improve, I’ll increase my chances of winning till I hit a new peak.
How do I know that? Because I’ve been there and done it. The game doesn’t hold you back, you do. (Or I did in my case)
That likely means the enemy team was exceptionally bad/playing exceptionally badly then. Also, being “inconsistent” (which is usually a cope term) is a sign of being lesser skilled overall.
A tank can do very little and be super helpful. They can also get loads of kills and never die but throw the game.
Same goes for all roles. Sometimes not being good on stats is good for the team.
Its something no one understands below plat and even a lot of plat players struggle to grasp. Good stats doesn’t mean you are being useful.
For example you have two widow players. One goes 20-6 and the other is 10-6. Which one is better? Bad players just assume big elims = good but what if those elims are all cleanup/regrouping eliminated? Or body shots/just credit elims…
I would take 10-6 widow who locks down off angles and gets early picks on supports over the widow racking up usless elims.
I couldn’t agree more, we as players should be judged on our own performance. There’s no reason why we have to be held hostage by others and a bad MM system.
As opposed to what? The current system that feels bad and is un-fair? Each system has its pros and cons…
A system to track performance that bans you if you underperform on one hero would fix it. It could also ban you on a hero you overperform on until you rank up
You may feel that way but it’s really flawed and broken, as we have experienced in the past with Overwatch.
If you’re good, you just win more matches. That’s all that matters. Stats ultimately mean nothing. We don’t want to encourage farming them in any way or exploiting a proposed performance system. There is also no way to balance out the teams, say one has double sniper for instant picks and the other sustain damage; one team’s healers will be having significantly higher healing than the other, thus more or less SR awarded upon match completion. There are countless other variables too.
ELO Hell doesn’t really exist, you have to realise that if you play enough, bad luck or whatever will even out and you will climb… If you’re performing at a level above your current rank! If you aren’t climbing after a reasonable period then you are exactly where you deserve to be. Do you want to put up some replay codes so people can give you tips? A few of your last matches, win or lose will do.
This is anything but, MR is genuinely awful. There were people with negative win ratios climbing to the highest rank in that game. That’s without getting into the EOMM and clandestine bots posing as players.
