This presupposes that anyone you engage in discourse with is inherently dishonest and untrustworthy till proven otherwise. Which really isn’t a factual stance and more of a pessimist view.

Yet it’s not reason to dismiss their words entirely. Even broken clock shows correct time twice a day.
