Rank boosting sites

so may sites came up to boost players and all I did was google overwatch…what are you guys doing to stop this; its no wonder I get people on my teams that have 0 clue how to even play(I only play as high as plat but that should show you how bad it is)its ruining the game and has been but these sites are all over and they seem unchallenged.

imagine being boosted and being proud of your rank lmao

I don’t think this is a problem that can be combatted.

Because even if all sites were shut down, there’s still popular discords going around that buy/sell accounts and buy/sell rank up boosting services

not with that attitude

discord can still shut them down

actually to combat this in some small way they could tighten up the sr system and stop letting people 1000 sr away from each other group; its unfair anyway as you get a bronze in gold and silver in play as long as their grouped with someone 1000 away .which is just not helpful. tightening it up will at least force these people to pay for more ow games at the very least and fix the sr system at the same time

People who pay to get boosted, dont do that just to get to plat.

The MMR system will take them down the ladder significantly, which means that the people playing these accounts will lose SR really quickly.

Believe me, there are alot of dumb people in QP who have no idea how to play the game but apparently are diamond and masters for some reason

Gonna contact Blizz on how i can report these kinds of sites, update follows soon.

EDIT:

I’ve recieved word from Blizzard and the hacks@blizzard.com can be used to report these kinds of things:

The email you mentioned - hacks@blizzard.com - can be used to report any kind of violation of the game terms of use and code of conduct, including third party websites selling accounts or offering boosting services for real money.

In some cases sadly there are lenghty legal procedures to follow before something can be done, but please rest assured that we always do whatever possible to stop or limit any kind of service that violates the game rules.

thats not how boosting works

Blizzard likely has little to no legal ground to shut these sights down.

Oh c’mon, I’m not throwing that hard…

I’m just playing suboptimally because I don’t main McCree!

And my Ana is rusty…
And I don’t play rein.
Or zen.

If i wanted to tryhard in quick play, I would make or join a tryhard group via LFG

Idk I don’t think NOT rezzing someone in a 2v6 is called tryharding or NOT solo blading in 1v6 is called try Harding or NOT ignoring the hog in the backline is try Harding or NOT getting staggered is tryharding. Maybe my definition of tryharding is a bit different but well whatever

Whoa settle down; I was making a joke!

The account was probably Masters when they bought it.

Maybe, but chances are that they actually belong in plat because at that rank player skill is all over the place. You have everyone from amazing aim but terrible positioning and decision making, to game sense geniuses who think like GMs but cant hit the broad side of the barn.
