Random restarts - DXDiag included

Been having random pc restarts while playing Overwatch. Only happens while playing this particular game. Have tried others and play for 2-3 hours no issues while Overwatch typically causes crash within 30 minutes or sooner. No BSOD, no freezing, just instant black screen and reboot. Here is what is showing in the Windows Error Reporting section of my dxdiag:

Interesting that I have the OriginWebHelperService.exe turned off in the Origin launcher yet it still shows on the diag. Also, I have disabled Overwatch.exe in my Razer Synapse as that has been an issue in the past also.

Also, I found the file below as Report.wer which dates back to 5.23.2020 which (if i’m not mistaken) was around the time my random crashes started happening.

Hi, forum volunteer here. Random reboots and crashes fall outside the scope of support this forum offers because they point to a system-level issue (the game client cannot initiate a reboot). This behavior sounds like a driver failure or overheating issue. More info and suggestions for resolution here: Blue Screen Crashes in Blizzard Games - Blizzard Support.

Other things you can try:

  1. Make sure 12-15% of your hard drive is dedicated to free space to run optimally.
  2. Check the Windows Reliability History tool for any errors happening during the time you played Overwatch.
  3. You could also try removing all GPU driver copies with Display Driver Uninstaller, and then reinstalling the latest one. Simply choosing “Clean install” does not do what it says.

If you try all of Blizzard’s suggestions, as well as those I listed above, but nothing helps, use benchmarking tools to see where hardware is underperforming.

I hope this helps
