"random" is lazy code writing

Yes, i said it. all this “random” crap in OW is just an excuse for lazy code.

  • “random” map rotation : lazy code writing so we dont get a proper map rotation nor any type of map select options
  • “random” report categories : why is it when i type out a report the list is always in some “random” order ?? why cant it be in the same order, everytime ?

I don’t mind random map rotation. It keeps things fresh and allows me to experience all of the maps(good and bad). I see why one would want that though

Why is pellet spread random in a lot of games?

Surely it would easier to balance if it was always the same and add to consistency.

“Random” people on the forums

Reports-
They go in descending order from the most recent 1 you’ve used(At least from my experience)
Maps- Map selection is fine really

“Lazy Code”
I’m going to assume that you have no idea how hard coding actually is. It takes time and just a random script can be a lot to work on. Also, maybe they want it random?

I posted a rant on the map selection the other day and got around 50 likes. There’s no reason to not have it except it would force blizzard to change 2cp or let it die because a small percentage of players would choose to play it.

Why force us to play maps outside of competitive, knowing the majority hate certain maps?

Say i’m a Mei main.
I love to play Hanamura defense
But no one else likes it, so it takes me 30 minutes to find a match.

That would only be if you shoot yourself with the pellets.

Also, random isn’t.

I see it as: 90% of players hate 2cp, why cater to the 10% minority and force the 90% to play something they don’t want after waiting in queue for a few minutes?

Or they could look into why players don’t like 2cp and change it into something that the majority want to play

Except for that time when I had Blizzard world for 9 out of 11 maps last week, and only 2 of those were on defense.

Congratulations, you have discovered dev goals.

Yet it’s taken them 2+ years for those goals, with no changes

uh, im actually a programmer for a DOD company, writing CBT lessons. i know exactly how to code. having “random” anything is just lazy …

Some people work really hard to write JavaScript.

Now they boast on their expertise

The coding examples i’ve looked at had random scripts that were harder than making scripts that individually selected. Sorry for overlooking you tho.
