The past few months I’ve experienced random fps drops while playing. It just happens when i’m playing overwatch.
i tried running on every graphic setting (low,medium,high), and every setting behave the same way.
So I don’t know what to do, it’s pretty annoying and it ruins my will to play. I’ll attach my DxDiag, and sorry for my bad english i’m not english speaker.
Are you using an overclocked card? (They’re not supported by Blizzard)
Also, seeing this error of the nVidia driver not working with Battlenet:
Microsoft covered this issue in 2013, but I’m not sure if their solution is still relevant since I haven’t personally come across this. Redirecting
If that doesn’t help, I’d recommend using Display Driver Uninstaller to remove all nVidia drivers, and then install the latest version (should be Feb 13, 2019).
You should also switch your system to High Performance power settings (currently set to Quality), if you’re gaming.
My card is not overclocked. I know, blizzard doesn’t support it, which is very bad;
It has always been set at high performance, I don’t know why it says “quality” on the Dxdiag. Also, I have an i7 8700k oc @4.4Ghz, I don’t think that would make much of a difference since my CPU is not bottlenecking, at all. It doesn’t even get close to 90% while gaming and streaming (1080p60fps) at the same time. Obs.: I didn’t run any tests with obs openned;
Even if I fix the Bnet error, I don’t think it is going to fix the fps problem. If that were to be the problem, closing it should fix it, right? But it doesn’t. In addition to that, the link you sent me it’s supposed to fix that problem on windows 8. On windows 10, those options are overwritten by NVIDIA drivers, so users are not able to access it that easily, unless he uninstalls the drivers completely;
Yes, I have uninstalled and updated all my drivers numerous times using DDU.
Okay, since you’ve covered almost everything, my last question is about temperatures. Can you take some screenshots of HWMonitor and upload them to imgur and give us the links? Once you do that, also send all of your dxdiag and msinfo to Blizzard directly via ticket.
FPS close to normal - which is 300fps: https://imgur.com/xqmdINK

No, I will not do that. I’ll not contact 2 different sectors from Blizzard about the same problem. It’s much easier for me to just stop playing the game. I’m done.
You work for the company, so now, do whatever you think it’s best for it. Feel free to send the ticked yourself.or if anyone else inside Blizzard is interested in solving this, the post informing the problem it’s right here, just like a couple of hundred others.
I do not work for Blizzard, I am a forum MVP. The forums are a place for the community to assist and sometimes staff can help, too. If you want to guarantee you are in touch with them directly, you will need to open a ticket on your own, as only you can perform that action.
You have set your graphics to low, but then overrode all of the settings individually and put them on Ultra/Epic. When you’re loading a large area of the map or high traffic fights you’re going to see a large dip in frame rate when all settings are on this level.
I have been having the same issue as you except mine started right after the new lunar update , before it i never got this issue . My game drops from 150-140 fps to around 35-25 suddenly for about 2 to 3 seconds and then becomes totally fine until it happens again. I have a gtx 1070 , i7 6700 and 8GB Ram . Its not an insane build but should be able to run overwatch without fps drops at the lowest setting the game offers. I played the game at mid settings before the update and never faced these drops.
I have been discussing the same issue on this forum post for a few days, check it out maybe something there helps you.
Dude I’ve had the same issues as you. I’ve even gone as far as installing my OS entirely and making sure every driver possible was up to date. I’ve restored my CPU and GPU OC and have tinkered around for literally 20 hours or so. Even after finding and confirming with hours of stress tests my CPU and GPU OC, the game still dips in FPS. It will go from utilizing ~90% of my GPU ~50% CPU outputting a consistent 300FPS to completely dipping as low as 200 FPS with low utilization across the board. AND with that drop in FPS comes a weird input lag not associated with FPS (its been debunked numerous times that input lag has little do with max FPS and more so to do with how saturated your CPU and GPU are). I don’t understand what is going on and I’ve scoured the internet trying to find a solution and nothing. Everyone just doubts your competence saying stupid stuff like “is your GPU melting???”. This issue is prominent and Blizzard has done little to look into it.
Decent specced pc about a year old with a 1080. running capped at 144fps, getting random spikes to 70 fps, but it freezes for a second which is losing me games.
Every other game plays fine, its a blizzard issue.
Sure, if we’re gonna get an answer. I and others have started to look for answers ourselves, since no one at Blizzard wants to aknowledge it’s an issue with the game.
Any fix for the issue? ive been running overwatch on around 80-90 fps consistently and now after the event was gone im barely getting 20. max temp i get on my card are like 70 and ive tried some benchmarks so im 100% sure its not my card/ cpu.
