I’m not sure if this has been discovered or reported before; I couldn’t find anything when I was researching it prior to posting.
I play Overwatch at a locked 144fps on a Vega 64 with absolutely no issues until I enabled the Radeon Performance Overlay that was introduced with the Adrenaline drivers. The overlay shows things like GPU temp, utilization, game FPS, memory/gpu clock etc etc and can be very useful to me. There is a configuration setting to set the update interval of the telemetry (I usually use 2 seconds, but have tested 1 second and 4 seconds to verify this problem).
On every telemetry update, the game stutters briefly as if there is an FPS drop, but the FPS drop isn’t registered by the Radeon FPS counter, or the in-game FPS counter.
This isn’t a gamebreaking bug or anything (though can make it very hard to aim properly)… but I just wanted to make it known since I can’t find any more information on this beyond what I’ve discovered.
