RThey always hit you with that same automated reply. It’s pretty dismissive and frustrating to their customers. I always leave a scathing review with some choice words tossed in there; you know, because I’m an adult.

I do wonder what the logistics are of them depriving you to do something you paid for. I’m sure it’s not legal for you to falsy be banned and not get a chance to use the product you’re paying for.

“You’re banned for mmmprrhhrnnnhnn reasons. How we doin’?”

I’m sure there’s at least one person walking in the door with a wad of cash as you’re walking out with a pink slip so from their perspective it’s a net gain.

From my 1 forum suspension repeal experience, their responses seem like copy/pasted “No” answers. In fact my response was almost exactly like yours and it was for the forum, not the game.

I love your games blizz, but your customer support policies really seem to suck.

Watch out, they might ban you for that language!

Man that sucks I have thought about the same thing of leaving this game but I have never been baned so I hope you come back latter after everyone gets done reporting people for nothing. I hope the best for you, I hope you feel better. Overwatch is in a bad place so just take maybe 3 or 4 months and come back.

That’s a naive thing to say. You will automatically be the target of the blame if you are playing off-meta, regardless of how well you are doing.

People will yell at you before the round has even started and won’t give you a chance.

Had a game where someone was angry we had a Symmetra. What did he do? Sat in the spawn the entire round as Torb dancing and spamming “I need healing.” He assumed someone’s choice was throwing and decided to throw himself. On defense she was doing her job, shutting down everyone so much to the point that the thrower started to try.

So to answer someone’s naivety: No, you definitely get people angry if you pick off-meta and you definitely get people calling out to report you.

There are logistics for it, but to do anything you would have to take them to court.
Its never going to happen as it would just cost too much money and blizzard have big pockets/lawyers etc

So people are getting banned because they play a hero that is in the game…well, you know what, if anything, people reporting others for trying to have some fun should be the ones getting a ban for harassment/griefing.

If someone is using a non meta hero and is doing well for the team, then what in the world is the problem???
Are people so salty at their own private lives, they need to come over to a game and play a mode that makes them even angrier and then unload on a person trying to have fun??

This is ridiculous, Blizzard and the Overwatch team should be ashamed at themselves for managing this situation so poorly.

I would like to hear a reponse from the overwatch team on this matter. 1 person anyone. If nobody says anything then you guys just throwing bans by number of vote. It could even be from the forum moderator

Yep. Had a Sym main on my team last night. Constantly harassed by our other dps member. At the end of the match, I was happy we had that Sym. Their TPs back to point A Anubis were game winning TPs. We would not have full held point A with them on another hero.

thats interesting…because my ban appeal was answered in 20 minutes after receiving it, and it was lifted, because i didnt do anything wrong.
if youre guilty CS people are not required to say anything and will not do so, because they have other people that might not be guilty.
you have to keep in mind they answer hundreds of tickets daily, they shouldnt waste time on closed cases

Agreed whole heartedly and I want a response from them. Cause this is crazy. I don’t know why I have a feeling this thread is going to be locked and swept under the rug.

That’s absolutely untrue and has been disproven publicly. People vindictively report off meta heroes regardless of the outcome and usually from spawn if their smug little messages and threats are anything to go by. And top 500 players get banned multiple times too.

My advice to OP would be continue playing, download OBS and get a visor dot gg account. Record and upload all matches there and then, with vod evidence showing gameplay, stats, etc you have a proper record of events to fall back on. That way you can show that your account is getting suspended maliciously and the people in charge of the tickets are not following up on it.

It’s an auto email, that’s why it didn’t explain how long the ban will be.

You would be surprised. A similar case happened not so long ago and Geoff himself appeared and checked the case personally. I hope he does the same in this instance.

As someone already mentioned it, this happens even in these new forums. I have already been banned twice when in over a year I never even received a warning. The cause, bogus claims of “trolling” when all I did was give feedback that was deemed unpopular by some, so all they had to do is click the “flag” and claim trolling, then a bot suspends you and even if you appeal, nothing happens.

I appreciate there are no more downvotes, but now people can abuse the flagging system since it is terribly easy to suspend anyone.

Nah, since they added avoid player you can be auto banned for playing off meta heroes. I got suspended for being a rein main in gm cause too many people avoided me.

Wait, people avoid rein mains! They’re idiots! Tank mains are already rare enough!
