Any Genji mains can help me out here? I’m running Genji at about 4.4 EDPI on a wireless mouse with 1k polling, a large pad, and 240hz moniter. I always feel like there’s a buffer period after the dash animation where movement is stalled. It’s a point where I believe the animation has ended but I cannot 180. Trying to 180 at this point causes me only to turn 90 when the animation is actually completed. Is there a telltale sign that the animation has completed? Also, I’ve seen a clips of Necros and Water dashing before the point in the animation that I’m speaking of. Is there an animation cancel for dash?

I usually only get the stutter when I accidentally double-up on the shift key. Is a dash available to you after the stutter?
No it’s not a double dash. It’s just a pause for a brief second after the dash where I can’t turn. I’m still able to ghost dash, it’s just much slower than I’ve seen or than I’d like it to be.
Trying to replicate it a bit in the training range but mind you I’m running it on a macbook through bootcamp lol.

I believe it’s timing-based. I felt locked more often when I dashed from up close than I did when I dashed from max range. Which means there is an animation lock you have to wait out. If there’s a cancel beside wall-climbing then I don’t know it.

I usually just lower bots in training range to <50 hp and dash through them and to the next so max ranged dashes. I have this problem with the bots by the edges in particular since I dash off the edge and ghost dash back on.
I guess Ill have to check those sites then.
If u have to ask about how to “ghost dash” u havent played genji enough.
One look is enough for any true genji main to replicate it.
I know how to Ghost dash. To do it as fast as some clips I’ve seen is what I’m confused on.
If you’re trying to be necros i suggest you hire a private cheat coder to create a script for you.
Otherwise, its just you dont have enough genji hours.

you need high mouse sens for that. Yours doesn’t seem high enough, unless you break a wrist.

genji needs high mouse sens. Either become a dedicated genji player and increase your sens and get used to it, or just play as you do and forget about ghost dash. It’s not a mechanic that is often used anyways. It just looks cool. often times not necessary.

How about you DON’T utilize a broken and cheap tactic just because you’re not good enough with the rest of Genji’s kit?
how is ghost dash broken or cheap? it’s legit just for looks.
An animation cancel that allows faster movement and damage output than was originally intended for the Hero, giving them an unfair advantage over nearly every other hero who mostly cannot abuse their own kits to acquire that same result.
In summary: a broken mechanic that shouldn’t be in the game.
