It doesn’t do anything to address why Junk is struggling. It changes nothing at all for him :man_shrugging: Tunnelling the tank is not and will not be a viable playstyle.

I think the headshot decrease will be far more significant vs hitscan than the armour.

Bap got left off by mistake. He gets a 14% damage buff against armor.

This chart is wrong.

Like, factually wrong. 30-40% more damage is blatantly false, because armor was a 30% reduction, so the MAX you could deal is less than 30% more damage (since it’s always 5 less damage off the top).

And new armor reduces at a max rate of 50%, so the most damage you could do less would be 20% less damage, not 30%.

Like… sorry, but this is just bad math.

No. If you were Pharah before. Rocket does 120 damage. Against current armor it does 84 damage. Against new armor it does 115 damage. That’s a 36.9% increase in damage delt.

And for reduction take D.Va. she does 146.67 DPS at point blank range if all pellets hit. With current armor it’s 102.67 DPS. With new armor it’s 73.34 DPS. That’s a 28.7% decrease.

So, the math isn’t wrong there.

this just sounds so stupid, why are we doing even more damage? I thought the whole point of S9 changes was to decrease impact of burst, common Blizzard L

shields should just do a flat 30% damage reduction regardless of how much damage the bullet does

Well they did say he also getting a small buff along with this. Probably will just take him 1 step above trash tier though.

I still don’t fully understand these changes but my reading comprehension stinks. Very happy to see Mei benefitting. Sad for sombra. I’m a Lucio/Brig/Sombra/Mei generally so cool

Sombra is my DPS of choice. I also play Mei and Bastion quite a bit. I’m just a little :smiling_imp: when I play DPS. Since I’m a tank main I basically play all the things I hate.

After the patch any weapon with a base damage lower than 17 will deal 50% damage against armour.
Ex: tracer will deal 3 per bullet, sombra will deal 4 per bullet.

Any weapon with a base damage higher than 17 will deal a flat 5 points less damage to armour.
Ex: Cassidy will deal 65 damage per shot to armour (up from 49) pharah/rat/soldier helix will now deal 115 damage per shot to armour (up from 84)

Beams are not affected by this change (I think) nor are DOT effects or Winston (his Tesla cannon ignores armour completely)

The breakpoint is 10 not 17, but everything else you said is correct. Unless maybe you are trying to take into account headshots. I haven’t figured out the breakpoint on those, but for body shots it’s 10.

Probably because pharah does the same amount of damage as hanzo arrow.

So pharah gets a massive buff against armour.

Beams stay exactly the same

Just a mistake. She does 36.9% more damage against armor in the new armor.
