How do I counter reaper as a tank? He’s not op but every time I see him we lose (high gold)
Not your job to counter him, that falls on your DPS.
Switch or let your team handle him, you’re not supposed to kill Reaper on your own as a tank.

As winston you have to dance in your shield to make him lose his mind with your gunn zapping him
As orisa, similiar but also use fortify.
Rein, put up your shield and move back when he is going to you, all you can hope is someone will help you, or that you gona get some hits on reaper when he had to reload. You can try charge him, but it would propably fail, not because of his shift, but because he gona move to your left or right and be throw into air, or he gona just finnish you in your animation. Not your job to deal with him with those, thats all i can say to fight him for this tanks.
Dva, matrix shots like with shield, and force him by rockets to use his wraith form, soo he not gona get free reload in fight with you later, then matrix his shoots, and hope you can out dmg him. Dva out of mec is good to deal with him, because reaper have sometimes problems hit her.
Hog you need to shoot, hook him, and hs him, that all.

Dude… you never hook a Reaper with Roadhog… 90% of the time you’ll get aten alive.
Welp it worked for me, tested a lot in ffa, from bouth points of view, if you can one shoot reaper after hook you should do that, thats why you have to shoot him first then hook, and dont miss.

The only tank I can effectively kill reaper with is Hog. Its a little rng but if you can hook reaper while pressing W and aiming for his neck area then melee, you can one shot him.

IMO Roadhog is the best bet if you can get the first strike on him with a hook and can land the first shot.
Otherwise…RIP. You’ll lose pretty much every 1v1. The burden of taking out Reaper is typically your DPS or focus-fire.
You really can’t these days. All the buffs to Reaper have made him too strong for any tank to kill without significant help.
Reaper is very weak to other DPS though. Especially heroes with range or mobility advantage. If you can’t get a DPS player to help counter him you’ll be trouble.
I don’t favour any of the tanks vs Reaper.
What you want to do is reduce how much he hits your body while getting your team to hit him.
If you can’t get your team to hit him then try to retreat away from the battle, you don’t want to 1v1 him.
If you really can’t rely on your team then I personally think the best bet is Orisa.
Make sure you use fortify while you have almost full HP because Fortify + Armour HP makes Reaper do about 25% of his damage (this means he heals way less too). If you wait until you have half HP to use fortify then his damage is only reduced by 50% (and you’ll be on half HP) so it’ll only take him 1.5-2 seconds to kill you.
You can also use Halt to pull him the other side of your barrier while still firing at him (I recommend doing this before using fortify or if he flanks so you have to fortify first, save it for the second Fortify runs out or you are only one hit away from death)
Good Reapers aren’t going to let you kill them as Orisa but if you play it right you can waste their time enough that they are not getting good value.
On Roadhog it is possible to 1 shot a Reaper but I think it’s too risky to take, all that Reaper needs is a heal,DM or bubble at the right moment and instead of killing him you give him 1/3rd of his ult.
