Does QP also calculate a MMR for everyone who is unranked and placed in matches based on that hidden numerical value? Or no?
Working under the assumption there is one, sometimes I feel like it’s wildly off by miles. I’m wondering if it’s because I’ve done pretty well in a string of matches so you get bumped up to the next mmr grouping to test your progression out against higher “hidden” mmr players and then you’re either left there or dropped down again to compensate based on how well you performed?
I’m assuming this is what’s done, but I honestly don’t know. It’s really quite the surprise some matches.
A few matches I’m like, “Hey! I think I actually might be getting better.” Then by the end, “Nope. Still terrible.”
It seems really weird. There are times when either on my team or the enemy team there’s someone who is very obviously new to the game and just getting steamrolled. Then other times it feels like a GM competitive match with everyone going full sweat and the game being a super close tug of war.
QP matchmaking is super weird but I kind of like it that way tbh, I mean it is called Quick Play for a reason.
