I probably lose 4-5 in a row, then get a win. I am probably 10 wins and 50 losses? since Overwatch 2 started.
Having played Overwatch for many years and always being at about 50/50, losing this much makes the game completely un-enjoyable. Every time I play a game we just get wrecked or get bottle-necked at the end for a close loss. After a loss I check the stats and we always have 1-2 players who are just getting out dps’d or healed by their counterparts. Losing so much and often so badly doesn’t inspire me to log in anymore. Especially when a game starts and the enemy team simply dominates and you just have no shot.
My only guess is the terrible match making system that makes games simply unwinnable due to the competitive inbalance. Overwatch 2 is not fun.

The Matchmaking in Quickplay is horrible, to say the least.
You most likely match with People waaaay better then you.
I’ve seen the same thing on both ends, either steamrolling an enemy team that barly can do any plays and camping their spawns, and in the next game we’re locked in spawn, 3 Ults waiting to happen.
It’s not you, it’s blizzard. But if you buy a battlepass, i’m sure they’ll care. That’s all they care for now

I noticed that most of my losts are due to newbie tanks so I have gone playing tank since then. Maybe you can do so too. Play whatever role you think most ppl sucks. That helped my win rate.

I think 5v5 makes it so 1 bad player is a BIG deal, whereas in 6v6 you had a better chance. Tank and Support are vital and I have been playing both of these over dps. But still, support in 5v5 just isnt the same as 6v6… 1 less tank to hold the line and put up shields to protect.

I get into these stupid mindsets that “just one more win” and I’m good. That was an hour ago and I’m still looking for that win. So I just said “forget this” and hit uninstall. Again. I don’t need this aggravation. I need to remember that when I think about installing again. BTW, everyone in the house knows when I’m playing this game. They ask me why I keep playing when clearly I’m not enjoying myself. I really cannot give them an answer, but yet I reinstall from time to time anyway. Maybe one day I’ll finally learn.

I’ve had games with newbie dps on the enemy team. it was a complete stomp. Everyone matters but tank in particular is especially bad if you get a bad one just because then everyone else has no space to even try to do anything.

What is your total number of games and wins? You can see in your profile screen.
the balance rn is awful which is why im playing QP instead of ranked and it’s just stomps. You either do the stomping or get stomped and it’s awful.
mabye 1 in 5 is an actual good game

If you lose enough games you will face less competent players eventually. Just ride the pendulum like everyone else. Also, winning isn’t everything. Please don’t tell me this is about some arbitrary challenge.
If the match is lopsided, just end it. Throwing a game is easier now as just one player not participating ends the game faster. And i don’t mean jumping off a cliff, you can still fight, just don’t play the objective and don’t stall. The way the game is now, even just that is enough to completely steamroll your own team if it’s already bad enough for you to notice how the two teams are unbalanced.
If you intentionally take a hit to your stat, your MMR should go down faster and your lose streak end sooner.

We all gotta take L’s at times. Even those with a high win rate had to work to get good enough to maintain that.
If you only can have fun while winning then Overwatch is not the game for you. If it is making you upset then quit it. It is only a game.
I think we can agree that the matchmaker isn’t making you in particular lose on purpose, right? Let’s say that the matchmaker is as broken as it possibly can be, and every game is a hard stomp one way or the other. That would still give you a 50% random chance to win a game.
If you flip a coin 60 times, the chance that 50 of them will be heads is 0.00000654%. What you’re telling us is impossible. Say it’s 40 losses out of 60, and that’s 0.36% - unlikely, but it’ll happen to somebody. Maybe you’re one of those unlucky few.
The much more likely explanation is that you’re playing at a level significantly below your rank, and thus your team is highly likely to lose. Perhaps the matchmaker is taking too long to reduce your SR to the correct level. Or perhaps you’re so far at the bottom of Bronze that it can’t find players at your level. Either way, judging your teammates is not the right move here. You need to focus on improving your own play.
Helps to not constantly get idiots matched with me
It’s weird…I’ll win one game and then lose the next couple. (Now, it’s probably me, ok, like I’m trying to branch out) but it’s still no fun. It’s why I don’t want to branch out, because I’ll go on a major losing streak. Even if I do my best, it’s really disheartening. After two or three games, I’m done.
I don’t want to do arcade modes anymore, I don’t want to role queue. I just want good games.
(It seems the mmr is based on hero you pick, I tend to get better matches as Mercy, but again it depends.)

Ha! Sounds like me. I tell them, the game is really fun when you end up with a team that has good cohesion. Sadly, most of the time I end up with tanks who go in alone against a full team without their supports, DPS who just go off and try to get POTGs without caring about checking flanks, or healers who are more busy racking up kills than keeping their teammates alive.
And then there are the times when I end up with entire teams who just don’t play the objectives and only try to shoot the other side without capping anything. Inevitably, when I see my teammates just bugger off and each do their own thing without thinking about the objectives and leave the robot or the payload, I know I’m in for a bad time.

I had this one QP game. Where I would ping Junktraps and people would STILL step into them. Point blank in front ignoring my warnings. Another one where I had a Sym who refused to use her turrets the entire match. Crap game after crap game.

…post your last 10 replay codes and I’m sure you’ll get some help/advice!
Ever since they “fixed” matchmaking last patch I’ve been in the some boat.
I’m beyond tired of blizzard. I don’t understand how you can take an already existing and functional game- and then mess it up this bad. No game is fun at all.

It could be the new engagement rigging. If they think you’re “engaged” via losses, and keep queueing and playing by losing, they pin you there. This makes it easy to queue you people into you who they want to feel empowered, engaged, as the freewinners.

ugh, i Know
. Makes it even more miserable that the weeklies are all about winning. I was playing yesterday, typed in chat “can we group and not trickle please” Ashe said “what do you think this is, comp?” I was like “what does comp have to do with this, I’d just like to win for my weeklies” “then don’t queue solo” (like I can really help that, i have 0 friends who play this game, lol)
Ashe proceeded to spam L over and over and ended the game with “OUR OTHER SUPPORT OUTCLASSES YOU. YOU SUCK. TAKE YOUR L L L L L L” until chat closed out
