Quick play hacked and 6v6

Since 6v6 tests will be coming Soon™, now is a good time to talk about Quick Play Hacked. It’s bad, stop doing it.

I know you want more people to play your tests, but forcing players to do so by removing what is the main game mode of many is never going to work out. Limiting these tests to two days is also far from ideal.

Bring back the experimental card and actually incentivize players to use it. Make quests for it, give players currency for playing, or find a way to make it rewarding for players to beta test for you.

I want the 6v6 tests to have a fair shot, and that means not forcing people to play it if they prefer 5v5.

Is it bad that I enjoy quickplay hacked just to read the complaints whenever they run one?

quick play hacked just lasts 2 days, it spices up the monotony of quick play and its good for when there is a content drought. making it separate defeats the purpose, and it’s just another arcade mode

Yeah frankly the QP hacked’s have never once had a positive result. Its all been garbage, and usually the backlash is directly corelated to the level of changes made.

The latest passives QP hacked wasnt as terribly received because it barely felt different. It made no massive impact on anything.

And I seriously doubt Blizzard got anything out of them other than proof of concepts that the game can indeed be played using the new rules and not burst into flames.

if they are going to go soooo out of their way to make 6v6 testing this will require MONTHS, not weeks, not days. It will require a few balance patches too no doubt, and obviously various iterations, such as complete Role Queue, a version of first come first serve Role Lock, or just standard Open Queue.

They’ve already talked about this. Hacked gives them more, better data, and not enough people voluntarily played Experimental.

So we had this option and effectively blew it because not enough people chose to do the thing/vote. So they took it away.

Now they’re telling you if you don’t like it, they don’t care if you don’t play. One way or another they need the data.

If they didn’t do qp hacked, the data would be skewed by players who already want whatever they test. They need more than just an echo chamber to extract data from.

Just bribe us with freemium currency and I bet MORE players would play experimental mode than quickplay during that test.

I feel like they’re way too cheap for it to be worth it. 200 coins or 2 mythic prisms per tank queue!? They’d never.

yeah and forcing people who wouldnt normally ever want to be there to be there definitely wont skew data and/or perception.

The point is to figure out how much of the community actually wants one or the other, and find out why one side isnt willing to try 6v6 despite the rewards being made present for playing it. Splitting people up and seeing where the others lie is in itself very useful data.

If theyre going to force everyone to play 6v6 only it needs to be JUST for the weekend and immediately after split off into two separate queues, because no way is a singular weekend of 6v6 testing near enough to give Blizzard any large sweeping ideas.

i dont mind quickplay hacked, even if the mode sucks its only for a couple of days, although i do hope they make a separate mode for it after the event quickly so i can keep playing 6v6
