Heroes ranked by how much damage their quick melees would inflict assuming approximate “realism”. Thoughts?
(Note the exclusion of Rein and Brig, they don’t have quick melee animations, but if you wanted to include them I guess they’d both be S tier.)
S Tier - Extreme probability of death Orisa, Dva, Wrecking Ball, Gengi
Orisa, Dva and Ball are all essentially giant death robots/mechs. Their limbs probably weigh an absurd amount, and they swing them around like it’s nothing. Taking a hit from them would probably be akin to taking a hit from a medium-sized boulder that’s recently rolled off a cliff. Gengi literally just slices you across the stomach with a sword, enough said.
A Tier - Possibility of death with a likelihood of concussion Roadhog, Winston, McCree, Torbjorn, Bastion, Zenyatta, Zarya.
A little hesitant putting Hog this low, he could easily be S, but I’ve made the assumption that his body mass is mostly fat and not muscle. Either way, his hook is large, barbed and presumably pretty heavy. Top of A tier. McCree, Torb, Bastion and Zen all have metal limbs, giving their blows extra weight and impact.
An argument could be made for Bastion in S as well but I’m assuming he doesn’t have enhanced strength the way we know Orisa does. Zarya is an Olympian and proclaims herself the strongest woman in the world. And finially, Winston, he’s a 
gorilla . Gorillas are stronk.
B Tier - Decent probability of dazing, small chance of concussion. Solider: 76, Reaper, Widowmaker, Sombra, Symmetra, Pharah, Mercy, Tracer
You may notice most of these heroes prefer butting you with their firearms. Pharah wears metal gauntlets. Symm has a metal limb, but her animation looks more like she’s trying to flick you or slap you or something, so while she has the potential to do some serious damage, she gets dropped down a tier for poor execution.
C Tier - Painful, severe bruising and potentially dazing
Doomfist, Hanzo, Baptiste, Ashe, Junkrat, Ana
Pretty run of the mill. These heroes have no augmentations (on the arms they use to quick melee at least), nothing really exceptional about their animations to my knowledge. They punch you. A blow or two will still easily put you out of the fight but you’re fairly unlikely to suffer serious, long term injuries. However, they’re still very used to fighting. Doomfist is a terrorist, Hanzo an assassin, Bap a combat med, Ana a retired soldier/sniper, Ashe and Junk violent outlaws.
D Tier - It’ll hurt, but like, you’ll get over it, man Mei, Lucio, Sigma, Ana, Moira, Pilot Dva.
Sigma wasn’t even a fighter until he was brainwashed by Talon, he’s probably never used his hands for much of anything except playing with gravity. On top of that he’s pretty old. Mei is a climatologist, again, limited combat experience, also, she wears winter gloves, which probably don’t help much. Lucio is a freedom fighter, so we know he does probably get his hands dirty from time to time, but he looks pretty skinny y’know? A little hesitant about his placement, he could certainly be C Tier. We know Moira doesn’t like getting her hands dirty when she can avoid it, she’s a scientist first and foremost. And her hands look pretty frail tbh. She might draw blood with her nails but I doubt she can pack much force. Finially, Pilot Dva. Her gun looks like it’s made out of plastic and seems pretty light. Her melee would probably feel like getting hit with a plastic cricket bat.
